If there is a tour going on in the Backstage Pass hallway, then the "phone a complete stranger" goes to them. It is only if there is no tour in progress that the phone on Mickey Ave is used.

I remember riding on the HISTK bee in front of the bluescreen back in '91 on the special effects tour. Is that the same tour?

I had no clue what the heck this was until you brought this up!
I was young so the only other thing i remember is the Alien Goo that they made for TGMR

There's been SOOO much in that tour. I miss just the regular show very early on when they had the short movie with Bette Midler in it. (not that I'm a big Bette fan... I just liked the association with the 'how'd they do that' scenerio.)

Of course, everything has been hacked-up now that they have "One Man's Dream" in there (not that I'm complaining)... and Millionaire taking up 2 sound stages.

Remember when you could walk the whole length of the sound-stages?... then watch the short film at the end... then dump-out by the Animation courtyard?

I guess if you really want to reminisce, do you remember when the loading que for Backlot Tour was to the left of the Animation building?

Ahhh. Yeah, I miss 1989! When the studios were really studios.

I really miss the studio part of the park too, It was exciting to think that you were walking (or riding) around where movies and TV shows were in production. Not to mention watching real animators at work. I still love MGM butit has lost some of its magic.
