AVATAR land - the specifics

Ok fair enough, only see them on youtube as I don't really do any other social media. So out of interest does she openly swear on twitter?

I'm going to call hooey on this.

The only time I've seen Jenn get riled up on twitter is when she is defending herself from this crazy guy who constantly attacks them via twitter. She's passionate about her political beliefs, but I've never seen her be intentionally mean or rude, and she does not swear. It's very hard to feel context over a text situation, so things can sound snarkier when reading them. But no, Jenn is not some social media tyrant.

Except another incident happened yesterday. And yes that guy was weirdly against her but ever since, she blames him for any haters despite him not having anything to do with her anymore. Shes not the happy go lucky person her husband is.

It's a bit surprising that no one has gone into much detail about the ride, which leads me to believe that there's probably a black-out on not only filming the ride, but describing it in detail.
Yea I'm sure more details and eventual POVs will start rolling in after grand opening.

I've only seen a few media reports from CM guests and, it may come as a surprise to us Disney-obessed, but they haven't felt the need to publicly lay out the mechanics of a ride. They tend to simply say, 'wow!' and 'awesome!'.
CMs and their vlogger friends are the only actual riders that I've seen and yeah if they want to keep coming they will behave.

OK, I don't know how to do spoilers but... SPOILERS

Seriously, big ol' SPOILERS!!!!

So, one of the fellows over at UO posted a very clear description of the ride. The bike-like seats don't rise or jut out on kukla-arms or anything like that. they pretty much tilt and move attached to the floor, remaining where we've seen them in the images. HOWEVER, the entire floor that those bikes are attached to is a free fall unit and, at some point during the ride, the entire room falls a distance roughly equal to the height of the room. There are also a load of scents and other effects. The report, from someone who is quite critical of WDW, is very positive.

It also seems like a lot of guests aren't going to be able to ride - there doesn't seem to be a wheelchair option and the seats are very restrictive - people are being turned away.

There are some less positive reviews of the land from folks who have experienced it as well. They say that everything is focused on one large, well-themed but fairly obvious show building and that in spots the theming just sort of stops. The theming in the shop and, particularly, the restaurant is not great and some of the fake foliage has a shoddy look. Again, however, some tough critics really like it.

Not everyone is getting on Flight, too. Seems it's running with only one theater, right? That would greatly limit the number of people getting to ride.

It would be very interesting to see that room in action. Sounds like a neat concept but I think forbidden journey is still the most ambitious although motion sickness prone ride in Orlando still. That ride system and show building is still unbelievably good. I just wish I could ride it more than once a day without feeling terrible after.

Well some folk won't like it or will have criticisms, which is fine and fair enough. Of course this also puts to bed the 'myth' that Disney controls all the output and reports on this new land and that every person there is specifically picked for being 100% behind Disney

The leaked blue prints show one or two theaters would have a wheel chair accessible section. I assume they are just not running those theaters yet.

They have been running Theater C which is one of the two ADA compliant theaters. They've also been loading all three levels of the theater, so guests using wheelchairs should be able to get on the ride by now. I think the problem @Casper Gutman is referring to is that there is no alternative, conventional seat for easier transfer from wheelchairs. It's straddle or get out, as I understand it.

Must transfer situation I would imagine right?

Did anyone figure out what the lyrics in Na'vi River Journey translate to in English? Or at least what "ma-hey-wa" the word/sound that's repeated three times, means?

I can only imagine... maybe it's something meaningful, about cherishing the world and preserving culture. Or maybe the lyrics translate to "Man, I wish the ride was longer than five minutes. Budget cuts, budget cuts, buddddgggeeet cuuuts!" :D

Or maybe it doesn't translate to anything. But I sure am curious.

Thanks for sharing, as that video may not be long for the world. Though from May 27th onward, I believe all recording will be permitted.

First full POV of Navi River Journey?

This video gives us a better idea of the dispatch rate. In this case it was 30 seconds, dispatching 3 boats at a time,so that would be 120 dispatches an hour. 4 people per row would give a theoretical capacity of 2880 per hour, 3 people per row, 2160 per hour. Actual mileage may vary.

I think the "hey-wa" you're hearing may be "Eywa," the Na'vi deity. But I like the "buddddgggeeett cuuuts!" option too. ;)

Pretty sure it's two at a time. While the videographer is being sorted, you can see the rear boarding area on the left and then the two unload areas on the right.

How is FoP capacity and reliability wise? The way they have been doing previews with it is pretty alarming considering the capacity of 1 theater (that I hear is having issues often exasperating the problem). Are the other theaters not ready, and/or having issues also? Even with the multiple theaters capacity seems dangerously low for a headliner.

Normal Growing Pains usually experienced by all attractions in their soft opening phase
