Attention to Detail

When you look at pics of the overseas disney projects do you notice how huch detail goes into the attractions and areas around them? The pictures are awsome. Euro disney makes MK's fantasy land look horrible. I hope in the future our new attractions will have the same details as theirs do. When you have a chance take a look and compare. I will say that the indiana jones ride was a good example of detail. Does anyone agree with me?

I have to agree, the Disney Sea project is so amazingly themed. I hope the imagineers in Florida get the clue and build one there, it would be a great addition. I forget which site it is, I got it forom one of these forums, but the amazing detail in the lands of DS is great.

It isnt a case of the FLorida team getting a clue - infact many of the Florida WDI team worked on Tokyo Seas. Its a matter of management approving over a billion $ to build it! Which isnt very likely - it seems around $600 million is around the figure that Disney want to spend on parks.

Tokyo DisneySea is so far ahead in detail. They place a bronze Mickey Statue in each land which is pretty neat. I hope they bring a DisneySea park to Walt Disney World. :(

What?!?! How could they build a theme park with only $500 million??? These days, most new parks go for at least a billion. I think that WDSP is going to have major problems when it opens with attracting guests and keeping them in the park.

Go to the press release above (at the bottom of the page) - and you will see the official costs.
The total project cost is 4billion francs - which at today's conversion rate is $559 million.

Remeber, the new park in Paris only has 9 attractions (which includes only 3 rides, RnR, Tram Tour, and Aladdin).

LOL - OK - while I am at it...

Animal Kingdom cost $760 million.

Epcot cost $1.6 billion back when it was built (with its opening set of attractions)

Cost isnt determined by physical space that a park occupies - it is what is done with the space that makes the cost either high or low.

A major Eride costs in the region of $100 million. So parks like Tokyo Seas, which have 6 or so major Erides, quickly spend $600 million just on individual rides, never mind the land it takes up etc..

AK opened with only 2 Erides, Kilimanjaro and CTX - hence its low cost.

I agree that I would love to see them build the DisneySea park here, but I know it would never be like the one in Tokyo. Disney designed a very detailed park because the Japanese were willing to pay for it. I don't think Disney would spend that much here on a park. I would like to see it though.
