-sigh-I almost don't want to ask this because I know how dumb it makes me look.
I was looking at the Expedition Everest page on wikipedia(I know, I know, consider the source) and it talked about the part of the museum with evidence from the campsite. To quote it exactly:
"...and a makeshift museum that documents yeti sightings, its significance in Himalayan cultures and a so-called "lost" expedition that ran afoul of the creature in 1982 while attempting to reach Everest through the Forbidden Mountain pass."-wikipedia.org
here comes the dumb part...
I had always thought that expedition actually happened. Like people in real life claimed, or not cause I think that museum reports that they died, to go into Mount Everest and were allegedly attacked by the Yeti. I even thought the tent and other "artifacts" they have from the campsite were from the real life events that took place (not that the Yeti actually attacked these people, but that they claimed he did...you know what I mean?). Before I ramble too much more, my point is I thought this actually happened, not that Disney just made it up. What's the real deal? Sorry for my stupidity, ha ha. :hammer:
and while we're on the subject, does anyone remember what that notice says right as you're leaving the museum? Something about "those going into the mountain peacefully have nothing to fear" or something? I always think it's so cool, but can never remember!
Thanks!
