We have an 8pm ADR at Artist Point and we've never leveraged the boat launch services at any of the MK resorts. Roughly how much time should we allow for the boat trip from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge so we're able to make our 8 pm ADR.

Artist Point ADR: How long to get from MK to WL via Boat

The official WDW statement is you should allot 1 1/2 hours to get to your dining ressie but 30 minutes to an hour should suffice!

The actual boat ride itself is probably less than 15 minutes.

I might add it is a lovely ride-make sure you have your camera to get a few shots!

If the stars align against you
You wait 15 minutes for a launch at the dock at MK
You get stuck behind the Electric Water Pagent going over the bridge, so your trip to the WL takes 20 minutes
You have slow people in your party and it takes 10 minutes to walk from the dock to the restaruant.
So that is 45 minutes from the time you arrive at the MK dock.
In reality, the total trip is closer to 30 min total.

Give yourself an hour. If you get there early walk around the grounds and the lobby. Stop in Territory Lounge and have a cocktail. The lodge is a great place to hang out.

Once I was doing what you are (Artist ADR after MK). And I got stuck behind the 'Hoop de Doo' rush. (IIRC it was around 4:30).
I believe there is still boat service from the Contempoary to WL & the campground. If so, that is another option.
Definitely allow time. And get the Smoky Portobello Soup.
