The decorations will start coming down Jan. 1, but it won't be immediate. Usually takes a day or two.

Generally the holiday season runs through the first weekend in January although recently it has become later and later before all the decorations are gone.

In my experience, they start taking the decorations down, including in the resorts, on the evening of Jan. 1.

Resort decorations start coming down overnight from the 1st Jan.

Recently they usually have (at least some of) the MK decorations up until after marathon weekend, which is the first weekend after the 1st January.

Since marathon weekend is a week later this year, I’m not sure they’ll wait that long.

Epcot’s decorations all come down overnight on the 30th December, in time for the New Year stages etc going up. So all their Festive story-telling etc finish on the 30th.

After all the holiday stuff is done. Often they still light the castle up for a week or so after NYE. Usually around Marathon weekend, but it varies from year to year. But there have been years where decorations were still up til mid Jan.
