:mad:I missed this one, but you gotta pull for your homeboys.

Congratulations anyway. Manning played a great game and they didn't panic at the beginning. I really hope you can beat the Cowboys next week. Good luck!

Thanks! They had a rocky start, but they pulled through. If they keep on playing like they have been the last couple of games they should be fine next week.

Time for me to come out of the closet.

I have despised the Dallas Cowboys for over 30 years now (since the 1975 playoff game against the Vikings). Can't stand em.

There. I feel free. Free indeed.

:)

So you hate the Cowboys and the Patriots? It will be a tough Super Bowl for you if those are the 2 team playing in it...... :lookaroun

I don't hate the Patriots. I don't like some things that have happened with them this season, but I don't hate them. If the Super Bowl came down to the Pats and Cowboys, I would throw all my support to New England. In fact, I would probably prefer anyone in the AFC right now over anyone in the NFC, for the teams that are left.

I agree with you on your last statement.

Giants...ICK... I can't stand Eli Manning or Tommy Cough

Seattle...eh...ok...but I'm not a huge fan of Holmgren.

Dallas...EEEK...I don't mind Tony Romo because at least he has the ability to get the job done...but T.O. irks me.

Green Bay. If I had to choose for any of the NFC teams to win...it would be them, but I'd rather see any of the AFC teams (aside from San Diego) win it before they do.

Indy. I know I'm from New England and I have to hate them...but I don't. They're a good team and to take that away from them is just plain silly.

San Diego. Last year really just put a bad taste in my mouth with them. The whole, "Don't do my dance when you beat us...you classless people." Ya know, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A DANCE SHOVING IT IN THE OTHER TEAM'S FACE IF YOU CAN'T TAKE THE CRITICISM BACK!

Jacksonville. If the Pats don't win it...this would be my second choice.

New England...the team that truly deserves everything they have accomplished. I know I'm VERY biased here...but strong on defense and practically unstoppable on offense...AWESOME FORCE!

So, here is the order in which I'd like to see them from favorite to least favorite.

1. New England Patriots
2. Jacksonville Jaguars
3. Indianapolis Colts
4. Green Bay Packers
5. Seattle Seahawks
6. Dallas Cowboys
7. New York Giants
8. San Diego Chargers

I fear that's the predicament I will be in...as a tried and true Buffalo sports fan, I have a deep hatred for the Cowboys, yet in recent years, I just cannot stand the Pats (sorry, don't mean to offend anyone :lookaroun). I've decided that, if it were to come to that, I will indeed be rooting for the Cowboys (at least I don't mind Wade Phillips so much...he was an okay coach here in Buffalo for a few years).

I was really looking forward to the Steelers/Jags and the Giants/Bucs games...although I watched part of all the games this weekend. I was really pumped about this weekend, and as a whole, I found it to be a bit disappointing. Big Ben (who I saw in WDW over the summer, BTW) was a huge disappointment (although I picked the Jags to win anyway...I feel badly about Willie Parker, though. He would have made the difference for sure), and LT - what a horrible game that was. Norv may have been happy, but you could tell by the look on his face, LT knew he was lucky to get a win - at home even! Just terrible. Better be back to normal next week LaDanian, because the crowd won't be so friendly in Indy!

Definitely looking forward to some upsets next week (and let's see some effective running, for pete's sake!).

The Cowboys and the Giants :)

Well we will see a big division rival in the playoffs  These 2 teams are big rivals. Also both of these teams have a lot of history in the playoffs and they both have been to the Super Bowl and won the Super Bowl. But these 2 teams have never met in the playoffs.

I saw the Cowboys beat the Giants in Texas Stadium in 1995. This was right after everything was looking bad for the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas had just lost to Philadelphia and that put Philadelphia close behind us in the division race and it put San Francisco in the lead in the NFC with us now being in second place in the NFC. Also everyone was talking about how Barry Switzer went for it on 4 down at the Cowboys 29 yard line. I have always said that Barry did what he felt he needed to do to win the game and I have always respected him for that call and it took a lot of guts for him to make that call. Even though everything looked bad for the Cowboys we did clinch a playoff spot that week.

Anyways after Philadelphia beat us 20 to 17, I went to see the Cowboys play the Giants. The Giants were like 4-10 at that time or something like that and we had beat the Giants on the road 35 to 0 and now we had them at our home field. But this time the Cowboys had a hard time with the Giants. The Giants played us tough this time. In fact the Cowboys did not even get a touchdown in the whole game. We had an awesome field goal kicker named Chris Boniol. Chris Boniol kept making long field goals during the game. Then the last play of the game was coming up it was the Giants 20 and the Cowboys 18. Chris Boniol scored all of those 18 points and he had not missed one field goal during the game. The last play of the game was another Chris Boniol field goal. We just needed him to make one more field goal. If he missed it we lost and if he made it we won. I was so nervous :p Well Chris Boniol made the field goal and we went on to win 21 to 20 :king: Chris Boniol was the MVP of the game :king:

During the week that we beat the Giants 21 to 20, San Francisco also won. The next week would be the last game of the regular season. Dallas had a record of 11-4 and so did San Francisco, but since San Francisco beat us that year they would win the tie-breaker. The next week San Francisco got beat and Dallas won. Dallas had a 12-4 and San Francisco had a 11-5 record, so Dallas had home field advantage threwout the playoffs. San Francisco would have to beat us in Texas Stadium in the playoffs. San Francisco never even met us in the playoffs, because Green Bay knocked them off and then we knocked off Green Bay in the NFC Championship and then we went on to beat Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl :king: This was when we won our 5th Super Bowl :king:

Now if we had not beaten the Giants 21 to 20 in that game that year, the playoffs could have turned out very different for us. San Francisco could have clinched home field advantage threwout the playoffs. I would like to think that Dallas still would have won the Super Bowl that year, but you never know. San Francisco was awesome back then. Also in any case I have always looked at that Cowboys and Giants game as a turning point for the Cowboys that year.

Well when we play the Giants this time in Texas Stadium, I hope it does not come down to another field goal at the end of the game. I hope we get the lead early and win big. But I will be happy with any win we get. Anyways I will have my radio with me in DisneyWorld, so if I am not by a Tv during the Cowboy and Giant game, I will listen to it on the radio (I will listen to it on the radio even if I am am watching in on tv at the same time) Go Cowboys :sohappy:

I have a friend who is a Packers fan. She asked me yesterday who will win, the Packers or the Seahawks? I told her that I do like the Seahawks, but I also like Favre, so it's a tough choice for me who to root for. Her reaction: "NO! You can't like the Seahawks! I won't let you!"

I just read this article on ESPN.com:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3185291

All I can say is: Mike Vick's lawyers are freakin' geniuses! He's going into a drug treatment program through the Federal Bureau of Prisons that will allow him to possibly have a year knocked off of his sentence of 23 months. Doing this will possibly allow him to only have to serve less than a year of prison time. And why is he able to enter this program you may ask? Because in September, after he plead guilty and while he was awaiting sentencing, he tested positive for marijuana. Makes me think that his lawyers told him, "You're going to serve time, but there's a way to knock a year off if you enter a drug treatment program. Smoke this before your next drug test and you'll be eligible for it once you go to prison." At least he still has to worry about the State charges pending against him.
