Okay everyone, what if New England wins all their playoffs games including the Super Bowl, but during the regular season they win one of their last 2 games against the Giants or the Dolphins, but in the other game it's a tie :p I just had to bring this up :ROFLOL:

Wow...unlikely...but still a VERY good question.

Great question.

The question really is..."What is perfect?"

Does perfect mean, not losing one game...or winning every game?

A tie would kill the deal though.

Think about it. The 1.000 is a winning percentage...the amount of games won.

If you have a tie...then your record would be 15-0-1...that's 15 out of 16 games...so your winning percentage would be less than 1.000 so the Dolphins would've finished off the year with a higher percentage.

Well I was able to find the Cowboys and Panthers game on the radio I must be picking up this station from Carolina, because it says the Carolina Panthers radio network. I am in Florida and picking up a radio station far far away it seems

Anyways half of the teams in the NFL can still win the SuperBowl. There are 32 teams and 16 of them still have a chance to make it to the playoffs. If Dallas wins tonight, Carolina will have no chance of making the playoffs and it will be down to 15 teams.

We won :)

Cowboys win 20 to 13 I am very happy with this win I felt like Carolina was a dangerous team to play today, because it was win or die for them in this game and plus they had home field advantage in this game. But the Cowboys still beat them, so yes I am happy with this kind of win. Also a win is always a win.

With this win we really made it hard for Green Bay to get home field advantage threwout the playoffs Now for the Cowboys to get home field advantage threwout the NFC playoffs all we need is One of these three things to happen 1. The Bears to beat the Packers 2. The Lions to beat the Packers or 3. The Cowboys to beat the Redkins The race to home field advantage threwout the NFC playoffs is not over, but I am pretty sure that at least one of these 3 things will happen and Dallas will get home field advantage threwout the NFC playoffs.

Anyways the Bears play the Packers at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow and when I get off work, I will be on the lookout for that game

All or nothing. Either we win all our games or we don't. IMHO if the Pats win out then they are the greatest team in history. While the win % will be the same as the Dolphins, the # of wins to get there would surpass them. The Dolphins would still be the first team to have done it, but the Pats will have won more games to get there.

The Dolphins did not have a chance to win as many games as the Pats though, so this could be a question for big debate. There are also many other things to debate. Also if Dallas goes on to win the Super Bowl this year, they might be the greatest all round team in history as they would be the only team to win 6 Super Bowls. There are lots of things to look at when talking about the greatest team in history.

The only problem with labeling the Pats as the greatest team in history is.....I dont think the Dolphins team had been accused of cheating prior to them going undefeated.

True enough. But remember this, the 1970s NFL had a high instance of steroid users. I'm not saying that anyone on the '72 Dolphins did use, but we know, for example, that members of the Steelers 4 Super Bowl teams in the 70s did. But most people still consider their teams to be among the greatest ever, despite the "cheating" that steroid use is considered. At that time, the league didn't have the testing practices that they have today to limit such things. Those that have been caught with the current testing have been suspended for multiple games. And it's not like the Pats were caught cheating after week 14. They were caught in the first game and have not done it since. The league has been very careful to monitor all teams for illegal recordings. So, recordings that couldn't be used at all in the first game(which the Pats won anyway) and then the following 13 games winning all of them. They won them because they are a great team and if they were to win out through the Super Bowl, then they would be the second to go undefeated, but would have had to do it through a longer stretch, likely having to beat the Colts twice, which is no small feat. So there would be a strong argument for the 2007 Pats being the greatest team in history.

Very true. If the Pats do go all the way undefeated, then, this whole issue very likely wont be an issue. Time has the tendancy to do that kind of thing.

Dallas Cowboys clinched home field advantage :)

The Bears just beat the Packers 35 to 7, so Dallas has now clinched a number 1 seed in the playoffs. The Dallas Cowboys will have home field advantage threwout the NFC playoffs :sohappy:

It could be argued. However, the fact remains that the Pats have to win more games than the Dolphins did.

That would be an argument for the greatest franchise. The Cowboys would have a claim to that. Then again to get to # 6 they may be up against the Pats.
19-0 and as dominant as they have been would have to make them a favorite for greatest team in history.
I also think they would have a claim at the greatest Dynasty in history. IF they win their 4th Super Bowl in 7 years in an era that is more difficult to keep a core team together they would have a claim.
All of this are big Ifs. The Pats have to win 5 more games before that discussion can take place.

What the heck were the Dolphins thinking going for it on 4th down? Take the FG and have some points on the board so at least you have something to show for your effort... :hammer:

The Giants just beat the Bills 38-21, and clinched a playoff spot!!!:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Congratulations to the Giants. Your team will be going to Tampa Bay to face the Bucs in their first playoff game. Congratulations to Tampa Bay also for making the playoffs.

I allready congratulated New England for making the playoffs a couple weeks ago and I have congratulated the Cowboys many times. Now it's time for me to congratulate the Colts,Chargers,Steelers,Jaguars,Packers and the Seahawks.

As much as I would love for the Giants to get to the Superbowl, I would love to see a Dallas/NE matchup.

As much as I would love to see Dallas in the Superbowl, Im not sure they are ready to win it, and if they cant win it, I dont want them in it. (And I say this hoping Murphey is listening to me and applies his law, as he has done with so many of my predictions.)

I am curious what the Cowboys Redkins game will be like next week. Dallas does not really need to win, since we allready clinched the number one seed. Dallas is going to rest at least one of there starters, I am curious how many other starters they might rest.

The Redkins will be fighting the Vikings and the Saints for that 6th seed playoff spot and they have home field advantage and the Cowboys and Redkins are division rivals. All the Redkins will need to do is beat us next week and they are in the playoffs and the Vikings and the Saints are out.

I of course want Dallas to win, as I always want them to win and even more so since the Redkins are division rivals. But since we allready clinched the number one playoffs seed in the playoffs this game is not as important to me. It's still important, just not as important.

I think you will see the starters for the first half and if things go well, second string second half.....
