The QB was Trent Dilfer. The worst QB ever to "win" a Super Bowl.

And, it's Tarkenton, not Tarkington. Definitely one of the best QB's in NFL history.

I thought I spelled it wrong. Please do not tell #6. He is on the "Proper Name" police. :king:

I became a Vikings fan during Superbowl 11. In my book, Tarkenton and Bud Grant are two of the best in their respective jobs.

I was a Viking fan then too (I switched loyalties when the Bucs came into the league in 1976). Too bad Bud couldn't win the Big One; it could have sealed his legacy as one of the greatest coaches ever in the NFL. He ran into some buzz-saw teams with Miami and Pittsburgh beating him, though he should have won the Kansas City game in Super Bowl IV.

Speaking of the Vikings, I thought they would win Super Bowl 22, after they went out to Candlestick Park and destroyed the 49ers. I remember back then that the 49ers had only lost 2 games and it look like they would win the Super Bowl and crush all other teams in the playoffs hand down. But after I heard the the Vikings beat the Saints in the wild card playoff like 44 to 10, I somehow got the feeling that the Vikings just might beat the 49ers and they did. They did not destroy the 49ers like they did the Saints, but they won be like 2 or so touchdowns when they beat the 49ers. After that I really thought the Vikings would go all the way and win the Super Bowl, but in their next playoff game they got beat by the Redkins and the Redkins went on the beat Denver 42 to 10 in Super Bowl 22. I was in the 4th grade during this time :)

And don't forget the year that the Vikings went 15-1 and then lost to Atlanta in the NFC championship game. Minnesota should've won it all that year too. I believe it was 1998.

What a day of games. Green Bay clinched their division, Dallas managed a come from behind victory over Detroit(who should have won :p) the Dolphins came one step closer to an 0-16 season and I think have now clinched the 1st pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and the Patriots managed to shove that guarantee down Pittsburgh's throat and make it 13-0. :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

The big surprise around here is that the Bills have a legitimate chance at making the playoffs. If they can win out and have Cleveland drop a couple, they may get the last Wild Card spot.

Dallas Cowboys won their division :)

Dallas Cowboys beat the Lions today, so even though the Giants won today, my team still won the NFC East :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy: I think the Lions are a good team and I think they are better than their 6-7 record and they played a good game today( I did not see the game, but I know it was close ) :)

My team clinched a 4th seed by winning their division today and since Tampa got beat today my team clinched a 3rd seed playoff spot :) So rignt now the only 2 teams in the NFC that can catch us in the regular season are the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks.

This is how it stands right now with only 3 games in the regular season left(Since Dallas beat Green Bay, Dallas would get the tie-breaker over the Packers).

" Dallas Cowboys 12-1

Green Bay Packers 11-2

Seattle Seahawks 9-4 "

Next Sunday Dallas plays the Eagles and the Packers play the Rams. If Dallas beats the Eagles and if the Rams beat the Packers, the Cowboys will clinch home field advantage threwout the playoffs  So Go Cowboys and Go Rams

I don't think I will change anyones mind here, but I figured I would throw in my 2 cents.

I have respected and kinda, sorta liked the Pats--until this season. I like Brady because he went to Michigan and I've always looked at the team as having a lot of class and doing things the right way.

However, this season has changed it for me because of the cheating incident. Yeah, other teams might be doing it too, but the Pats are the ones who got caught. I wasn't impressed.

The whole Spygate thing has absolutely nothing to do with what the Pats have done this year. They got caught in the 1st half of the 1st game of the season and never had an opportunity to use the tape.

And the other issue is the running up of the score. Say what you want, but they did it against Dallas, Washington, and maybe the Buffalo game. When you're throwing on 4th down with a 35 point lead or you're punching in a score when you've already got the game in hand with 15 seconds left to play, in my opinion, you're running it up. I've never liked it and never will. If my teams ever do something like that, I'll be sorely disappointed. You can win decisively with class and I haven't seen that out of New England this year, save for a few games.

This is pro football, not Pop Warner. If you want to keep the other team from scoring, stop them. If ever there was opportunity for running up the score, just wait 'til the Jets next week and Miami the week after. We all know how Belichik feels about Mangini. And Shula's comments, even though he later backed off, were just stupid. You don't hear any of the opposing coaches or players complaining, just the media and some fans.

Are they better than anyone else in the league? Absolutely, but that's not why I'm rooting against them now. I'm just disappointed in the approach this season. It's like they've decided to be the bad boys of the league. Is it because of the Jets game?

It is absolutely because of the Jets game. Bill is just giving the NFL and the rest of the league a big FU. This man has eaten, breathed and slept football his entire adult life. To have his integrity questioned was a major blow to him. He is just showing the rest of the league he doesn't need to cheat to win. They didn't decide to become the "bad boys of the league". The NFL did that for them by singling them out for something every team does and continues to do.

BTW, is this the same Ravens team we played last week? (losing 44-7 as I type this) This is more like the team we were expecting.

If the Colts beat the Ravens tonight...I will go 15-0 for my weekly football picks! It's the first time in 5 years of doing it that ANYBODY has gone perfect! Come on New Orleans!!!

I've already won $395 this year...so another $180 will put me well in the lead for the person that has brought home the most cash!

And of course, that's Monopoly money that you are playing with because gambling is not entirely allowed in Massachusetts, right? :animwink::lookaroun

In all fairness, his integrity deserved to be called into question at that point. Major blow or not, he screwed up, cheated and got caught. Punishments were doled out and he went on to show that he doesn't need to use underhanded methods to crush the opposition. Hell, it seems to have worked out better not using tapes.

I agree. If he or his staff are still coaching with a chip on their shoulders, it's one they put there and choose to keep there.

Well I don't see the Packers getting beat by the Rams either, but it's like you said " This is the NFL " > In the NFL anything can happen. Any team can be beat and any team can win. For all we know the Dolphins could upset New England and stop them from going undefeated, just like they did to the Bears years ago. Now I am pretty sure that New England will beat the Dolphins, but this is the NFL and any team can win and any team can be beat.
