Madden had a couple of crystal ball moments, like when the Eagles were setting up for a 3rd and long, and he said something like "this is where you find out who plays good football. If you're a good offense, you convert here. If you're a good defense, you'll make a big play." About 5 seconds later, NE picks off Feely.

Of course, he also had at least one of his patented Capt. Obvious moments, like when he said "You look at Wes Welker and you wonder how does he get that much separation? Quickness is how."

(You don't say! Running fast helps a receiver get open??  )
Madden is entertaining, but the single best sports announcer quote I ever heard in my life occurred during the World Cup. A player missed a wide open goal and he fell to the turf and began to beat the ground with his fists. The English announcer said, "So and So (I don't remember the players name) is engaging in an orgy of self-recrimination."

Old school football last night! I loved it! It would've been kinda cool to see a game go into OT at 0-0. Those had to be some of the worst playing conditions I've seen in an NFL game.

I saw an interview with the groundskeeper on the news before the game - said it costs $100,000 to resod the field. I wonder is he still IS the groundskeeper!!??!!

Ricky Williams is already out for the season. Sheesh.

I saw that. Kinda falls into the "saw that one coming" category though for the Dolphins this year. We lost our main RB. Hey, our old main RB is coming back... Hooray! D'OH! We just lost our main RB again... 0-11

Go Cowboys :)

My Cowboys are beating the Packers 34 to 24 now  I hope we can hold this lead. This is an important game, because if we win this game we will be one game ahead of the Packers and leading the NFC with only the Packers close to us, with only 4 games left to play in the regular season. If we win tonight we would win the tie-breaker should the Cowboys and the Packers have the same record at the end of the regular season and my team would have home field advantage threwout the NFC playoffs, as long as no other NFC team comes back :king: I think the Packers are the only team in the NFC that can take our home field advantage in the playoffs away from us, but you never know.

Cowboys win :)

My Cowboys beat the Packers 37 to 27 :sohappy: Now if the Raiders can beat the Packers and if the Cowboys beat the Lions, we will then be 2 games in the lead in the NFC

You won by 10 and Favre didn't play for half of the game...and you're confident?

Anywho, I wish I could've watched the game but it was on the NFL Network and I refuse to shell out money for games that we normally would've got for free and it's just the NFL's way of trying to cash in on the faithful fans...but that's another story.

Sounds like it was a great game! I watched about 5 minutes of the end on nfl.com I didn't know that they were broadcasting it over the interweb :)

EDIT: Could the local fans see it on their local station? For instance...if you were in Dallas, could you watch the game if you didn't have the NFL Network? That would just be REALLY bad if they couldn't.

I thought Green Bay's back up quaterback did really good :)

Anyways I could not find it on tv, so I just picked it up on the radio. In a way It's more fun on the radio.

I don't know if local Dallas fans could pick it up as I am not even close to Texas. The reason Dallas is my favorie team, is because of a family member that I have who used to play for him. He is on my dad's side and is the son of my Grandfather's cousin or something like that :)

I do have to say, having watched the game, the Packers were doing pretty good for not having Farve...:lookaroun For a while there I almost thought they were picking it up.

Hehe, I know what the Dallas fans are thinking...a win is a win. Frankly, I felt the same way after last week's Pats/Eagles game. Sure, we won...but we won by a field goal against a team that had its backup QB in. Not a real "warm & fuzzy" feeling.

When the Pats play the Giants on the NFL network, it will be shown here on ABC.
