We are planning our third trip to WDW in December 2018. My girls (7 and 5) really want to stay at AOA. They are tired of the boring hotels ( Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge) haha. My parents are likely to come with us. Which is better, two little mermaid rooms or a suite for 6 people?

The AoA suite has: "a bedroom with one queen-size bed; one double-size convertible TableBed; one double-size sleeper sofa; living room; 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette."

with Little Mermaid you would get 2 rooms (4 beds, unless 1 room had a king) and no kitchenette.

Personally I would go with 2 rooms.

If privacy is an issue for anyone, I would go with 2 rooms. If not, the suites are a little more fun and the kitchenette is a nice added bonus.

Let YouTube be your friend, show them both rooms and talk about it with them. My 2 cents, the suites have a little more Disney magic in how they are decorated/appointed and how they maximize space. But with 2 LM rooms, each set of grownups can take turns letting the kids stay with them and having some nights alone, if that's important to you.

I agree with watching you tube on both rooms: I’m not sure how comfortable the sofa bed or table bed are. Main thing you would lose with 2 rooms is the kitchenette.

We stayed at AoA in 2016 and had both a suite and a LM room. I will say that the table bed is NOT very comfortable and I found it to be pretty loud in the hallways where the suites were located. My parents stayed in the LM room and said it was quite as it was an outdoor entrance and not a "indoor hallway entrance".

I will say that I LOVED the decorations in the suite. We were in a Lion King suite and the details are pretty amazing. I will say that we don't spend a ton of time in our rooms when we are at Disney but a good nights sleep is pretty important to us!

I would get 2 rooms. There is only 1 real bed and the rest are pull downs or chair-turn-into-bed type of thing. So who is going to sleep in the bedroom, you? Your parents? If I am paying for a trip to WDW, I am too old to be sleeping on a fold down, no way.

Not that I'm going to die on this particular hill, but I crashed a few nights on a sleeper sofa in Beach Club with my niece and her family. So, free place to crash at WDW can't complain, but nevertheless the sleeper was pretty comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know how old or big the OP's parents are; I was 47 at the time, 6 foot and about 240, so I was in a position to feel every piece of that sofa that would be uncomfortable.

As for the table that converts into a bed, I suspect kids as young as the OP's to also be light enough that the mattress won't feel too thin or unsupportive.

If the kitchenette or common space to hang out is important, go for the suite. If having more "real" beds or privacy is important, go for two rooms!

Having stayed in both, I strongly recommend the suites. The bathrooms are much bigger. You can shut off the toilet and tub from the sink area in the one with a tub. The microwave is a real plus.

My daughter and her friends, all around 22 years old, have slept on the Murphy bed and had no problems at all. I have always had the bedroom, and that bed is much better than the full beds in the standard rooms. We've had at least four different adults sleep on the sofa bed, and not one of them had a problem with it.

We had the exact opposite situation with the noise. The standard rooms were extremely noisy, especially at night. You may as well be in the room with people on top, bottom and both sides of you. It's particularly bad during the night when people around you go to the bathroom. I was constantly tired when we stayed in the Mermaid room. We have never had that problem in the suites.

If you want to go with two rooms, I recommend two adjoining rooms at Pop. They are new and way nicer and cleaner than the Mermaid rooms. It's very easy to walk over to AoA and visit. Pop has a great food court. There's also less walking. We usually stay in the 90's building.

My kids really liked staying at the Holiday inn resort use to be nick hotel, we had a king bed, queen bed and bunk beds. And it was 125 a night, and they gave us resort credits. I think one room is fine depending how much you spend in your room. With the waterpark and the acrade and 4d movie i woyld say not much.
