I know they have it set up at DTD for demos this weekend, but haven't heard anything else.

We will be at WDW on the 30th for a birthday and wondered of there were any promotion going on. We were there last year for the Toy Story Mania release and didn't notice anything special going on.

Same thing goes for any Kingdom Heart games...Nothing.
Too bad they can't revamp Fantasmic with WoC water effects and make it an Epic Mickey Show...

I'll be there tomorrow. Are they actually demoing the game itself?

Here's some info I found about it:

Come to Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney beginning next week and you’ll be able to see and play Disney Epic Mickey. The action-adventure game for the Wii console sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, you’re propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s forgotten creative efforts, and are given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic Hero. I’ve seen a sneak peak of this game and can’t wait to play. How about you?

Sora did show up during a few Halloween parties...then stopped.

The new Mickey design would make a quite brilliant Meet and Greet at the Studios.

In the most recent issue of Celebrations, in Spector's interview, he states that the ENTIRE GAME takes place in the parks. I am kinda suprised that this isn't being promoted better by Dis plants leaking info on sites like this one to add buzz.

Especially if the entire game is based in a warped version of Disney Parks, why aren't the parks promoting themselves better?

Well, I think you answered your question there at the end.

Epic Mickey is dark. Very dark, for Disney. The twisted parks aren't exactly what they want to be selling to 7-year olds (who would likely find the game too difficult anyway).

I think that's why you are seeing it go to DTD and not in park kiosks. I'll be surprised if they even stock it in most stores. Parents see "Mickey!" and "Wii!" and spend $50 to buy it, only to get home and realize it's a dark, action-adventure aimed at older teens and adults.

Now, I wish they *would* promote it in parks, but I don't think that's going to happen for these very reasons. I could be wrong - love to be wrong on this actually, LOL - but I don't see them cross-promoting it.

Actually, it's more aimed for all ages and in playtesting, kids tend to get it better then the adults. More willing to actually experiment or you know, actually play.

It's really not very dark at all, Played a Demo a while back at a convention, other then the first impressions of the areas and lighting it's an extremely family friendly game. My 5 year old brother was with me and he was loving every second of it, trust me the learning curve on this one is very easy to pick up. Can't wait to play the whole game, very excited :sohappy:

Also curious if they are demoing the full game at DTD. The one I played was kinda like a listing of short samplings of different levels.
Also any plans on the Tron Games? I got my hands on the PS3 demo and was extremely impressed by it, that's the game aimed for adults and teens for sure, very deep involving story. If I remember right each system's game acts as a different prequel to new movie.

Oh c'mon, don't be so harsh on Duffy, I want to see him when I go there :zipit:

That being said, they have to get some Epic Mickey into the parks--it's only right and natural.

I was at the Downtown Disney Festival of Masters this past Saturday.
My 6 year old was able to play the Epic Mickey demo. It was only a portion of Level 1. There were 3 stations set up to play along with a couple of the game's designers, one of whom I chatted with for a while. He was there to give tips to the players including my son. Said it took a few years to develop from start to finish. I think there were 12 people in total workiing on it in Austin, TX. Game is done and is ready to laucnh at month's end.
At the same tent, they had cartoonists drawing and giving away sketches of Mickey and Oswald. My daughter got a Mickey sketch.
Didn't see anything else regarding Epic Mickey during my week's stay.

Ugh. Kingdom Hearts. Don't get me started...

...though I would add that the last time I was in Innoventions (2004?) they had a display set up in one corner. Just a few consoles running a demo level or something and some big display elements above it. It looked like had all been created for E3 and then brought to Florida.
