That really surprises me!

We are just discovering the joys of the AK. Each time we go we do a little more...new this trip was Rafiki's Planet Watch ,the Parade and Tusker House.

It seems to me that AK is just so much hotter & more humid than the other parks (I'm sure its just my immagination) so we try to do it the first thing in the morning. If we can get another winter vacation then I'll try for an entire day there.

It's not your imagination. I always tell my wife that AK is hotter and more humid than the other parks. She tells me I'm crazy. I told her it's because of the trees and water features and lack of open spaces to feel the breeze.

I agree! It's not your imagination. I always wondered if it was the lack of breeze or all the water that caused it to feel hotter (heat index). I would be interested to see someone actually take some readings in the parks to find out. You would think that the abundance of trees would keep it cooler and shade the pavement! Cooler pavement should mean cooler park!

I've not been in the Summer, but I'm aware that even AK enthusiasts, tend to steer clear of the park in the hot season.

Am I the only person around who wasn't all that impressed by FOLK? In fact, I must say that it has to be one of my least favorite attractions in all of the parks....yawn...

My hubby says the same thing..its the jungle thing.
Heat I can do, but in the humidity I have trouble. :wave:

Yep. I love it, it is one of my favorites, of course I like all of the shows, even Tarzan.

Refurbishing FOLK again? What could they possibly be doing? Wasn't FOLK completely refurbished not too long ago? When we were there in April everthing looked great!

FoLK was down for a month last August to enclose the theater and add air conditioning. This rehab is to revamp the lighting.

I just saw FOLK for the first time on our last trip to AK, very pleasantly surprised. I usually don't delve into Camp Minnie Mickey land (always think it's going to be like Toontown). Give it a try!

Quite the contrary. I've enjoyed other Disney "shows" and have been known to be an actor in other non-Disney productions. I love the theater, just wasn't impressed with FOLK....Obviously just a personal peccadillo...

No wonder I have never seen it. Never headed to Camp Minnie Mickey. Always to the Safari and then onto Asia!
