Animal Kingdom Refurbishment

Maybe everyone already knew this,
but I just got back from Animal Kingdom and while I was walking toward the Kali River Rapids ride. There was a well-dress cast member speaking with a couple other people. I didn't stop to ask any questions but, while I was walking by the heard the man say that they were going to be expanding the area where they were standing, and that they just finished cutting the cement. Sure enough, I looked down and it was clear where the road had been cut. It was a pretty large area too. I didn't catch what it was for but I just wanted to let everyone know that that would be happening sometime, probably soon.

I really wish that I had stopped to ask, but It kinda looked like it was some kind of meeting and not just a 'sharing of info' kinda thing.

I supose it's possible that it could have something to do with the new ride, but judging where it was I kinda doubt it. It was right by where that really brightly painted truck is. If ya know what I am talking about basically the walkway that you have to take to get to the rest of Asia. haha I don't know how else to put it:lol:

wonderful! i love hearing about AK expansion! that's almost always good news (except of course for the Dino-Rama incident...let's just not even go there)
so was the cut out in the concrete like off to the side of the path, or closer to the middle? anything you might can compare it to in size?

Alongside the river? If so then it might be for the bridge that they're supposed to build to connect Dinoland and Asia. How does that sound given what you saw?

It was along side the river, so some sort of bridge is a definite possibility.

You can see aerial shots on Mapquest... If this actually occured, and I have no reason to doubt it, and if the event took place on the path between Anandapur and Harambe, then yes that is referring to a large area of cleared land near Rafiki's PW/Cons. Station and the top of the current Asia. My bet is that shortly we will hear the announcement for the new Mountain ride.
