I went to Animal Kingdom on Christmas Day once and it was pretty slow. Then it rained and was virtually empty. The studios were pretty quiet that night too. The real fun begins the next day and throughout that week. Crowds are massive everywhere that you go and parks start to close.
I went to MK last Xmas and was actually surprised by how it was only about moderately crowded until about 1:00. We got there at about 7:15 for EMH and rode practically every ride in the park and we left at 6:00 after the Castle lights turned on. We were expecting chaos and it turned out to be a fantastic day!
We spent last Christmas Day at Epcot. Didn't get gridlocked till about 2 p.m. We're planning to be there again this year, just b/c the sheer size of the park makes it easier to absorb the crowds.
Okay so now im worried. Was planning on making ADR's for somewhere in Epcot for the evening but Im not planning to go over to the parks until about 4 or 5pm.
Do you think I will I get in the park at that time?
Dont want to arrive and we cannot get in for our ADR's and have to search around for somewhere.
Should I think about booking somewhere out of parks?
In the past we have spent Christmas Day at EPCOT.
The Magic Kingdom gets too crowded on Christmas Day and there's no special Christmas Day parade there that day anyway, as some TV viewers think.
Animal Kingdom would be a good place. The animals need some company on Christmas Day. If you get lucky they will sing Silent Night while you are there.
