Animal Kingdom Lodge or Yacht & Beach Club?

Having stayed at the Beach Club twice and AK lodge once, before this visit i would have opted for the Beach Club, but after the shortcomings of this stay on Club level, we are thinking AK lodge delivered the better experience for us and represents better value.

Thank you everybody! Took all comments into account but the pull of being so close to F+W meant be have opted for the Yacht Club and very much looking forward to it. Our only concern is with the price of the holiday our budget only stretches to a standard view room and I've seen pictures of rooms looking onto the roof or AC unit. Has anybody had problems with being given a terrible view? The balcony is important to us so the thought of looking at that for 14 nights having spent so much would be a tad disappointing.
Thanks again for all replies!

Congrats, we're right there with you! Over the past few years we've bounced between WL and AKL and while we love both of them, we're trying out YC in Sept. Our girls are old enough now to really enjoy the pool area, and we love BW and EPCOT so we're really looking forward to it.

As a singular, isolated experience I might recommend AKL due to the restaurants and the overall ambiance, but with all of the amenities and park access close to YC, it seems like a great choice. As for the Standard Room choice, I'm afraid I don't have any input there but I'm looking forward to hearing about that - we have a Garden view IIRC, so not apples to apples but still interested nonetheless.

Either way, you need to try and stay at all of the resorts at some point anyway! ;)

While our room at the YC started out as a disaster ( broken fridge and rheostat), the front desk was excellent and everything was fixed on day one. It shouldn't have ever been that way to begin with, but they did a good job of fixing it quickly. I am lucky enough to have a conference at they YC in December and just booked last night. I can't wait to get into the YC/BC water park, climb up the slide steps, and look over into Epcot!
