Animal kindom nightime hours

We are getting ready for our next trip in October, and looking at the hours it shows animal kingdom closing at 5:00 pm every night. With Rivers of light, and the new night safaris coming, I assume those are going to change. Does anyone have any thoughts as to when the hours might get updated to reflect the new evening events and attractions in the park?

but like many others I seem to have this incessant desire to get everything perfect when it comes to WDW. Their should be a support group.
I would 100% join that support group! I've mapped out my trip to the hour and even now I know once a firm date comes out for this I will be switching stuff up so I can go to the Animal Kingdom at night! I just wish I had it set already. A girl can dream!

do you think we can walk around the park at sunset before the show is launched?

Depends on when sunset is vs. the park closing time.

Just like any Disney park, you'll be allowed to wander the park for at least 30 minutes after the official closing time. But at some point CM's will start directing you toward the exit. If that point is after sunset, then there you go. But if the published closing time is well before sunset, then you're out of luck.

is the other 3 parks fireworks/shows always every night?

The answer to that is kinda sorta depends. Illuminations has been every night for as far back as I can remember. Fantasmic is currently daily, but there was a stretch a few years back where it was only 2-3 nights a week. The DHS fireworks have been quasi seasonal since they returned, so who knows. Wishes and MSEP are both currently nightly (except for party nights, but those should still offer parade/fireworks to party guests) but back in 2013/2014 both did run on a reduced schedule.

I am having the same trouble with planning my October trip. I have NO CLUE when to book my AK dinner reservations so i am just going with a weekend night. With how popular it will be once it starts up, surely if they don't show it every night, they will at least show it every weekend night.? Or at least I hope so. Fingers crossed!
