Trip Report And everything you do...celebrate you! *COMPLETED*

Oh what an adventure this year has been, and the journey only continued as we embarked on our 8th annual Walt Disney World trip together!

This trip report follows in the footsteps of the inspiration for my not-always-sunny pre-trip report: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/its-the-time-of-your-life.928664/

But we can skip that and get to the good stuff. A whirlwind of Disney, both the old and new, was just the thing we needed. A reminder that life is good, despite not always going to plan, and to never stop dreaming as we look to the future.

The cast: J - the husband. And myself. Goofy & Pluto Pook-a-looz babies.

Travel dates: September 2nd - September 10th...but Hurricane Irma changed that a bit. Returning home to All-Star Music.

Let the memories begin!

We arrived within the Disney bubble a little later than we were used to, and with an 11am - 12pm DINOSAUR fastpass that we were itching to get to, we barreled into Animal Kingdom around 11:45 desperate to make it. DINOSAUR is one of my favorite all time rides, and it was down for refurbishment last year, so it's safe to say I was going through a serious DINOdrought.
DSCN0428.JPG

We powerwalked through the lush Oasis, taking in the familiar sights and sounds, maybe beginning to register that we were finally here at Walt Disney World!
DSCN0430.JPG

Labor Day Saturday at Animal Kingdom probably wasn't the best idea. Especially when you see that both Na'vi River Journey and Flight of Passage were temporarily down on the My Disney Experience app, therefore inflating wait times at everything else. But we'd deal with that later. Must...get...to...DINOSAUR.
DSCN0431.JPG

As we turned right and rounded the corner to the Dino Institute, there were CMs lined up in front of the entrance. Not good! We stood there panting and clutching the stitches in our sides as they announced the ride is down with no ETA of coming back up yet.
DSCN0432.JPG

Ugh. Fine. We drowned our sorrows by splitting the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler at Flame Tree Barbecue. Food does solve a lot of problems.
DSCN0434.JPG

This baby was definitely large enough to satisfy two starving adults...but it was a messy experience. At one point, J said to me: Um...you have meat in your hair.
DSCN0435.JPG

The view didn't hurt either.
DSCN0436.JPG

We took the time to reset our plans, as DINOSAUR would turn into a recovery FP, and Na'vi was our next one, but apparently down. Ah well, at least we had company! Look who stopped by during lunch:
DSCN0437.JPG

Animal Kingdom is full of natural beauty.
DSCN0439.JPG

And wildlife everywhere you turn.
DSCN0440.JPG

As we cleaned up our colossal mess of a lunch and pulled up the app to see what we could do, J delivered the good news: Na'vi River Journey was back up. Whoopee! It's time to really get this party started.

Sitting down on the ground between Norway and China and watching the sun set would calm me temporarily.
DSCN1796.JPG

It was gonna be a good one, folks!
DSCN1800.JPG

Soft shades of pink and blue filled the sky and my heart.
DSCN1803.JPG

The sky was becoming so blue it practically matched the water.
DSCN1804.JPG

It all came together as lights around the world popped on, making both of us issue a joint "ooh, ahh".
DSCN1807.JPG

Still on a sweet kick, I peered into Kringla Bakeri to see if anything could suffice as a substitute but I just was not feeling baked goods and chocolate! I lamented to J that we should've just gotten some ice cream from L'Artisans and the sweet man offered to basically sprint halfway across the world to France to get it and come back. To which I was like, 1) No, we do everything together and you are not leaving me! And 2) It will melt. Sadly. Sooo we picked our feet up again and walked all the way around...back to France. For ice cream.
DSCN1809.JPG

The Mixed Berry Sorbet which saved the day. Every lick of this breathed life back into my body. It was creamy, but still light, packed with sweet berries, and slowly soaked the cone into its own delicious treat. Thank you, Mixed Berry Sorbet in a Waffle Cone.
DSCN1811.JPG

And back around we went to the Illuminations FP viewing area. It's been a while since we sat here. I think the last time we did was before it became reserved for FP. At first, I wasn't a fan of being so far removed from the water and with rows of people in front of us, but it did offer front-of-the-house views and...it's Illuminations. It's the most poignant, inspirational, and dazzling show out there.
DSCN1814.JPG

It was evening Extra Magic Hours, but we decided to take another stroll around World Showcase as it emptied out for the night.
DSCN1815.JPG

Same views, with a different vibe at night.
DSCN1816.JPG

As Promise plays, and then Tapesty of Dreams, you just feel the music more as you journey on your own path around the world.

As we walked, I felt so relieved knowing that we had another full day to spend here.
DSCN1817.JPG

Because there's just so much to see and do, that even if you could do it all in one day, it's just not enough time to fully appreciate it.
DSCN1819.JPG

DSCN1820.JPG

DSCN1823.JPG

DSCN1824.JPG

DSCN1825.JPG

Per tradition, we always go into MouseGear before the night ends to immerse ourselves in Disney mania. (What have we been doing these past four days?)
DSCN1828.JPG

Then catching one last Fountain of Nations show.
DSCN1830.JPG

And of course, being kids.
DSCN1831.JPG

We waved goodbye to the Big Ball and to Epcot, thankful for a picturesque day filled with discovery, laughter, and of course, food.
DSCN1837.JPG

Tomorrow was a brand new day, and undoubtedly the biggest day of them all!

Hi OP: Thank you for such a fun report! I thought I was the only one who stopped just to see the architecture of each building. I love all the colors, sights, smells, and each tiny detail Disney puts into their stores and attractions, or just in their parks! I especially love animal kingdom for their varied atmospheres and sights. We, my husband and I, just love to wander around the many different parts and take it all in. We always get a picture in front of the "big feet" area????? LOL I don't know what it is called but we take a picture between the "feet" each year. I also like to look at the inside of the stores more than the same old merchandise. They are amazing.
I will give ROL a try this time because you gave it such an unbiased review. I've only heard bad reviews, so it is refreshing to hear a good one for a change. It sounds very relaxing and exciting (oxymoron?)
Again will be happily following, and thank you.

Hi again, welcome back! I totally went overboard on focusing only on buildings and not much else this year. :hilarious:

I know exactly what you're talking about with the feet! In Asia outside of Yak & Yeti. Animal Kingdom is such a thematic park. I feel like the décor enhances your surroundings without you noticing it. It kinda just adds to the authenticity of the experience. This is unlike certain areas in all the other parks where you're supposed to be seeing/focusing on what's in front of you.

Rivers of Light is definitely a peaceful way to end a day at Animal Kingdom. It fits with the park in my opinion. Hope you enjoy!

It started out as a crazy idea that we said we would do for fun. It has since evolved into a tradition that no longer seems silly or impulsive, but positively normal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom. Reserved just for evening Extra Magic Hours.
DSCN1838.JPG

It would be an early morning indeed. But I love it. I love the solitude we feel.
DSCN1839.JPG

And being the early birds that get the worm.
DSCN1841.JPG

For a brief moment this morning, it does feel like fall!
DSCN1842.JPG

Good morning from Main Street, U.S.A.
DSCN1843.JPG

Crisp morning air and clean pavements.
DSCN1844.JPG

Empty corridors, a hint of sun.
DSCN1845.JPG

The Cinderella Castle beckoned us forward.
DSCN1849.JPG

I was enthralled to see a quiet, sleepy Liberty Square. Moments you won't get back.
DSCN1853.JPG

We were ready for some breakfast, but we couldn't help but pause and gaze in awe of this place.
DSCN1858.JPG

The wonder never grows old. In fact, it gets more and more beautiful each and every time.

Our sightseeing continued as we walked through Fantasyland. Breakfast is truly worth the price for me. For all of this.
DSCN1860.JPG

DSCN1861.JPG

DSCN1863.JPG

DSCN1865.JPG

DSCN1866.JPG

The familiar sounds of the waterfall by the Beast's Castle greeted us as we were invited down the bridge.
DSCN1867.JPG

Five days in, and we were finally back. And you can bet I was getting 'all the feels'.
DSCN1870.JPG

I have stepped into my Dream Come True.
DSCN1872.JPG

We sat near the back of the ballroom with a wide view of every single arched window, curtains, drapes, chandelier, and mural.
DSCN1873.JPG

The music that has been playing in my head for 365 finally filled my ears, mind, and heart.
DSCN1874.JPG

Oh, we do come here for food as well. That's coming right up!

Thanks to preordering, our food was out in no time. We were starving and definitely dove into our pastry tray more than we usually would.
DSCN1875.JPG

In my efforts to try everything on the menu at some point during my BOG career, I went with one of two items I had yet to try: the Vegetable Quiche. Usually I'm like, no meat, no deal. But as I knew I'd be in for a lot of food today, I decided a vegetarian dish couldn't hurt. It was surprisingly flavorful and I enjoyed the fresh bites of red and green peppers a lot! I couldn't finish the entirety of this though. Too much egg for breakfast sometimes doesn't sit well with me.
DSCN1876.JPG

J chose his favorite Croque Madame which is ALWAYS a good choice. The ham, egg, cheese, and sauce all work together to pretty much soak into the bread, creating this gloopy, moist, flavor-packed goodness of a sandwich. I should start stealing this choice.
DSCN1877.JPG

For dessert, I had more of the same. Ballroom-gazing.
DSCN1879.JPG

Knowing I'd be back two more times today helped our make our exit easier.
DSCN1881.JPG

I really felt some royalty vibes as I walked under this arch and saw my flower-laden cottage-castle before me.
DSCN1885.JPG

The blue shutters, the pink tent, and all the colors in between! I LOVE FANTASYLAND!
DSCN1886.JPG

Also one heck of a cool fountain.
DSCN1889.JPG

A new dream of mine is to have fake flowers on my windowsills.
DSCN1891.JPG

They were gettin' ready!
DSCN1892.JPG

To a few precious more empty Fantasyland moments we go!

We somehow ended up with this semi-artsy picture/view of Mine Train.
DSCN1901.JPG

And then a ride itself!
DSCN1902.JPG

And since Magic Kingdom is the park of maximum wandering and jumping around, we ended up at the Tangled bathrooms just to enjoy it's prettiness.
DSCN1913.JPG

I. want. to. live. here.
DSCN1907.JPG

This has slowly become one of my truly favorite views and places to be in all of Walt Disney World over the past few years. The music loop, the woods, the green lanterns, the Fantasyland buildings in the background...I really do love it.
DSCN1911.JPG

Plus the ambient sounds of the waterfall. (Man, I'm really obsessed aren't I?)
DSCN1909.JPG

We popped into Princess Fairytale Hall because we've only been in twice via FP and wanted to see the main hall, but it was actually more crowded than we anticipated, so I oohed at this nice stained glass window and we left.
DSCN1916.JPG

We did an 180 and decided to hit up Astro Orbiter on this early morning.
DSCN1917.JPG

It can actually be quite dizzying! But I'll do it. For the views.
DSCN1918.JPG

We then walked onto Buzz Lightyear where we got stuck and J abused the opportunity to earn the top score. I told him it was unethical, cheating, and unsatisfying but he didn't seem to care. And while I spent the whole time bickering in his ear, I didn't bother to play myself, and had a shameful, SHAMEFUL score.
DSCN1925.JPG

Like, I swear I am SO much more capable than this. I was just trying to instill some moral values.

You can probably guess what was next, as no stop to Tomorrowland is complete for us without a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Blue Ride. It's all you need.
DSCN1928.JPG

Well actually, I needed some twists and turns and that's exactly what I got on Space Mountain. Star Tunnel music, commence!
DSCN1931.JPG
I miss the days when the Blue Ride would cruise over these loading docks. I can hear the clattering of the tracks now...
DSCN1932.JPG

From Tomorrowland, we moseyed on over to Storybook Circus.
DSCN1934.JPG

To the one and only, Big Top Souvenirs! Man, it smells so potent in here and I am all for it!
DSCN1937.JPG

This visit would be solely for sightseeing and shopping as we were on a no-snack diet with our 3 "ADRs" today.
DSCN1938.JPG

The Casey Jr. Splash n' Soak station is the rightful pairing to everything you see in Big Top.
DSCN1942.JPG

As we moved back into New Fantasyland territory, it occurred to me that we've never really taken the time to see what is in the mysterious 'Cartography' building. We're always just saying hi to King Triton in passing.
DSCN1943.JPG

It's a DVC thing, but it also has some amazing detail in it!
DSCN1944.JPG

It really embraced the commitment to sticking with the Little Mermaid story of this particular area. Dinglehopper spotting!
DSCN1945.JPG

Lesson to self: never stop exploring.

Believe it or not, it was almost time for lunch! But first, we had to make a stop at one of the best shops ever...Bonjour! Village Gifts. The place for All-Things-Beauty-and-the-Beast lovers! Today, my attention was really caught by some of the artwork on display. This first one was my fave. LIBRARY SCENE!
DSCN1947.JPG

Adventure in the great, wide somewhere.
DSCN1948.JPG

'Ballroom Beauty' indeed...minus her new hairstyle. Stop trying to make this happen, Disney!
DSCN1949.JPG

As much as I wanted to try the macaron set next door at Gaston's Tavern, I resisted. We settled for drinking in the atmosphere.
DSCN1953.JPG

I oddly received Three Broomstick vibes from that other place here.
DSCN1954.JPG

The detail of the lights, the stone wall, ahhh!
DSCN1955.JPG

IT'S THE BEST PART OF THE DAY...LUNCH AT BE OUR GUEST! Why? Because Tuna Nicoise Salad. I love me some seared tuna, salad, green beens, olives, potatoes, poached egg, and that dressing! I was legitimately dying to each this so much so that I ate one piece of tuna before taking a picture.
DSCN1960.JPG

Hug your beloved foods tight, because J's Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich was taken off the menu a few months ago. I had to be bearer of bad news. It went like this:

Me: "It's gone. The beef sandwich."
J: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

It seriously covered the entire screen of my phone. Anyways, in its place was the new French Dip Sandwich, which after J took a few minutes to calm down and reevaluate his life, he said that sounded pretty good. I certainly thought it was! Dipping the sandwich into the 'jus' (French Onion Soup!) filled the baguette and beef with taste. J gave it a thumbs up as well, but said the old beef sandwich was better because the beef was more rare. And the horseradish sauce of course.
DSCN1961.JPG

To shake it up, we dined in the West Wing, enjoying the rumbling sounds of thunder, the flashes of lightning (and cameras), and revisiting our old joke that the Beast must like squirrels because the only tapestry in this room that isn't ripped to shreds...is of squirrels.
DSCN1963.JPG

The Enchanted Rose is a highlight too, of course.
DSCN1964.JPG

Lunch continues to be our favorite meal at Be Our Guest. It's quick, it's casual, and we have seriously created our own little imaginary cult followings of tuna salads and beef sandwiches. It's all good.

Full the brim, the next logical destination would be some we would sit comfily and rest everything off. There is actually something pretty comfy about those doom buggies. Especially when they recline...oh yeah...
DSCN1965.JPG

As we continued from Liberty Square into Frontierland, the skies opened up upon us.
DSCN1966.JPG

So we cut through Frontierland to Adventureland to take shelter in Pirates of the Caribbean. We were decently wet, and the air in there made me uncomfortably cold. So I commissioned J's arms to keep me warm as our boat set off into the foggy darkness. And suddenly, I was absolutely BLINDED by that new pirate skull flashing at us before the drop. That sure didn't go off two days ago. I thought someone was just being obnoxious and taking flash pictures in a boat ahead of us. But back to the blindness...I'm not kissing. I felt like I saw two spots burned into my eyes for the entire ride. And since J was wrapped around me keeping me warm, the picture made us look like the most scared, pathetic, unwitting souls ever. We laughed.
DSCN1967.JPG

Of course, the sun was shining when we emerged from Pirates, and headed straight to Big Thunder for some front row action.
DSCN1968.JPG

We walked along the pleasant pathway as we began to feel the afternoon sleepies coming on.
DSCN1971.JPG

We planned it perfectly so it would be a bunch of shows for us for the next hour!
DSCN1974.JPG

First up would be a favorite. Mickey's PhilharMagic! I always stay super alert during this show as I cannot bear to miss a second of Be Our Guest, A Whole New World, and I Just Can't Wait to Be King. And the smell of the pie.
DSCN1975.JPG

The theater is very inviting and the seats are super comfy. It was a good break.
DSCN1976.JPG

But the best break always comes with Carousel of Progress. We grab a back row seat, lean our heads back, and let John's voice and the jingle of 'There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow' take over.
DSCN1977.JPG

We both dozed off, but awoke to some sort of malfunction when our theater got stuck between two different scenes and a loud thudding sort of noise occurred.
DSCN1979.JPG

It was either a brief booboo or we were too groggy to register what was going on, but that sure was a first!

Since we were having a lazy afternoon and don't often find ourselves itching to do Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, it seemed like a logical now or never decision. And we decided now. Our favorite was the box of "Sugar Salt & Fat".
DSCN1981.JPG

Disney notice boards are always full of gems.
DSCN1983.JPG

J and I agreed that this show was actually not half bad, albeit not a must-do every year. The ad libbing quality of it is actually impressive, and I, for one, could not get the phrase "HELLOOOO HUMANS!" out of my head for the rest of the trip.
DSCN1984.JPG

Though neither of us ever got sucked into Pin Trading, we still love looking at the various characters, phrases, and never-ending innovation of pins. I found this heartwarming one in the booth outside Space Mountain and it gave me lots of fuzzy feelings.
DSCN1985.JPG

We went on another ride on Space Mountain, where after the ride is over and we're walking along the moving platform, I get way too excited about seeing my name being chosen on the screens...and find adorable RoboPluto!
DSCN1989.JPG

We returned to the Little Mermaid for the queue love.
DSCN1992.JPG

I seriously love the inside area of this castle. I sprinted.
DSCN1993.JPG

As a last stop before dinner (already!?) we ended up at Sir Mickey's.
DSCN1996.JPG

Both Sir Mickey and Lady Minnie made an appearance.
DSCN1994.JPG

And I played with snowglobes to take pictures of.
DSCN1998.JPG

J asked if I wanted it. If I got into snowglobe collecting, we'd be in real trouble!

We're baaack! (And sitting one table removed from where we sat at breakfast...imagine that!) DESSERT CARTS LINED UP. Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake, long have I longed for you!!!
DSCN2001.JPG

We decided to be fancy with our nonalcoholic beverage choices tonight. I got the Odwalla Lemonade, and J got the Fruit Punch. Both were excruciatingly sweet, but the foam sure is good.
DSCN2004.JPG

No dinner conversation whilst at BOG. Just gazing. At every single candle, crystal, and golden detail.
DSCN2006.JPG

Reflections on the windows. Ambient candles and snowfall. Those double doors. Straight out of the movie. Or not, as J likes to point out when we watched it. "It's not snowing in that scene!"
DSCN2007.JPG

For entrees, J continued to eat all the steak in the world with his most-ordered steak ever, the Grilled Strip Steak. It's never his favorite steak, but it is steak nonetheless and he's really here for the garlic herb butter and those pomme frites. (I am too.)
DSCN2010.JPG

Some time ago, there used to be a Pan Seared Salmon on the dinner menu and I was hoping to get it this time around having tried pretty much everything else on the menu. But when researching this year, the salmon was no longer present and instead, a "Seasonal Sustainable Catch Du Jour" was, so I thought it'd be close enough. And sure enough, the catch of the day was...salmon! So I was a happy camper. It was light and flavorful, and the veggie bed-concoction underneath it was crisp and tasty.
DSCN2008.JPG

Since we no longer get desserts with our lunch on using Quick Service credits, we were much more excited for dinner dessert than usual. J was impressed by the new presentation of The "Grey Stuff". It was much improved from the old, hard/dry brownie-style. Now it was more of tart-filled-with-creamy-mousse type situation with the all-important Grey Stuff on top.
DSCN2014.JPG

As much as I wanted to plunge my face into this cupcake, I know what's the good stuff here. I delicately took my knife and cut it straight down the middle and lovingly looked at the moist, strawberry cream filling just sitting there, waiting to be devoured, and savored it. All of it. The frosting, the pearls, the strawberry itself. God. I love it so much.
DSCN2013.JPG

We received a text message from my mom this time during dinner: "You might want to consider coming home a day early." Ugh. Really? Was it that bad? My mom is not one to infringe on your life or micromanage the way you handle yourself, so coming from her, I really started to take the hurricane seriously. We said we'd play it by ear and evaluate once the world knew more tomorrow. Luckily, we had a great waitress this evening. She was so friendly and personable, and she was also trying to fly out of Orlando on Sunday. (It was Wednesday). We asked her if she had heard any behind-the-scenes rumblings about the potential hurricane and she said nothing had been relayed to the CMs yet, but her positive attitude said "we're all going to get out, don't worry!" I easily let it go for now. I was in Be Our Guest.
DSCN2015.JPG

We finished dinner and toured the Rose Gallery before leaving. Outside, I gazed at the castle wondering if I'd be back for my next breakfast and lunch on our last day at Magic Kingdom.
DSCN2019.JPG

If not, I could take comfort in that I got everything I wanted today, and that's something to be grateful for right there!

Though the day had been a whirlwind, it wasn't even close to being over. Thank goodness for that, because there was still so much I wanted to do!
DSCN2021.JPG

One of those things is post-dinner-wandering around Main Street.
DSCN2023.JPG

Not many things are better than that!
DSCN2024.JPG

I immediately started fawning at the décor upon entering Uptown Jewelers. White & pink, bronze accents, ribbons, oh my!
DSCN2026.JPG

I call the next installment...belledream's Chandeliers of Main Street Collection.
DSCN2028.JPG

DSCN2030.JPG

DSCN2031.JPG

Because apparently that was all that was focused on! Though I didn't know that there was Kate Spade merchandise out. I kinda liked these more than the Dooney & Bourkes...and I like Dooney & Bourke.
DSCN2032.JPG

We lingered on Main Street waiting for sounds of that Walt Disney World Railroad approaching. Soon enough, it was All Aboard and we embarked around a blissful journey around the Magic Kingdom. A quintessential experience that filled us with peaceful happiness as we chugged along, sightseeing and leaning on each other.
DSCN2036.JPG

We did the full loop, of course. And as we made our way past the Storybook Circus Station, past Space Mountain, and got a glimpse of Bay Lake and Contemporary, I just knew what we'd have to do next.
DSCN2039.JPG

It wasn't originally in our plans, as we had a mega-MK-day in mind, but I just knew it would be good for us. We were heading to the Grand Floridian.

I just knew I would regret it if I didn't get to lay my eyes and step my feet on Grand Floridian grounds this year. So to the dock we went!
DSCN2040.JPG

The warm-but-cool winds caressed my face as we sped off towards the prettiest sight I ever did see.
DSCN2043.JPG

I eagerly awaited the moment I could disembark. I probably looked like a dog with my head hanging out of the window.
DSCN2044.JPG

The moment we stepped off, I registered just how quiet it was here. All you could hear was the boat puttering in the distance, and that soon melted away, and then it was just the sounds of our footsteps.
DSCN2045.JPG

My heart skipped a million beats and I audibly gasped as I saw the beautiful Grand Floridian with it's red/white colors practically radiating in the sky, the many, many windows glistening with lights or reflections, and the impeccable railings and pillars from top to bottom, right to left. I was more excited here than I was for any ride or show that I watched today. Disney has really evolved for me over these past few years.
DSCN2048.JPG

Not wanting to miss a single thing, I craned my neck upwards for the entire journey indoors.
DSCN2051.JPG

J, the thoughtful gentleman that he is, decided to take an extended bathroom break, leaving me to have my fill of anything and everything that I wanted. Naturally, I went to the shops first.
DSCN2052.JPG

But I was drawn to the lobby, which always takes my breath away the first time I see it...no matter what.
DSCN2053.JPG

The massive chandeliers, the intricate patterns of the domes, again with the railings...my eyes filled my heart.
DSCN2054.JPG

Even this little nook of an area caught my attention.
DSCN2056.JPG

I was so happy, I couldn't describe.

Happy Me wandered into Summer Lace where they had the cutest collection of designer brands that I will totally rock when I stay here one day.
DSCN2058.JPG

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS.
DSCN2059.JPG

Stairs fit for a princess.
DSCN2061.JPG

The most lovely floral arrangement.
DSCN2062.JPG

I was rejoined by J in time for the chocolate sculptures (typical).
DSCN2065.JPG

He liked this one best (also typical).
DSCN2066.JPG

Makes me want to come back during Christmas and see Gingerbread Houses sooo badly!
DSCN2068.JPG

We did another loop so J could check some things out, popped into a few more shops even though we were clearly not the target consumers, and took one last look at the grand lobby.

Outside, we walked by the pool and watched the Mat Hat spill. It made me so excited for our day at the water parks tomorrow! We then went to one of our favorite spots to relax and listen to the fountain sing along this stunning view.

As much as I didn't want to leave, we also wanted to be back at Magic Kingdom by sunset, and we were soon on our way.

I will say, I feel like this spontaneous detour to Grand Floridian really refreshed me and my outlook on the trip so far. We had some jam-packed days of activity and food, but this hour reminded me that all we really need is each other. As long as we're holdin' hands and sharing thoughts and moments, we don't need much else. (Ok, maybe still food).

I didn't catch this trip report early enough to comment while it was in progress but sounds like a WONDERFUL time!!! We leave for the airport early, too! Like you, DINO is one of my absolute favorite rides and I'm eagerly looking forward to it!!!:p:p:p:D:D
We leave in a week for our trip, and you gave us some wonderful spot ideas for sitting down and resting in Epcot!!! After your report, I fell like if I pace myself right and stick to what I've circled on the menus, I won't be overly full! We'll be in Epcot three whole days, so I might just be able to space things out enough!!:cool:

WE're staying at ASM, too and are hoping for Broadway, but we'll definitely thank the room fairies if we end up somewhere closer!

You've also reminded me of the simple joys of THE BLUE RIDE :p:p It will be a great place for my 72year old mom to rest her feet.

LOVING how often you go on Space Mountain and Under the Sea!!!! I will look at Ariel's castle in more detail! I love the themeing, too. Must admit, I'm loving J's princess comments. They make me laugh, as somebody who really cares about her princesses!!

WOW!!! HEA sounds amazing! I'm really excited to see it! :D:D:D

Thanks to your pics, I'm looking forward to trying the NEW grey stuff at BOG

And the Grand Floridian, I've never been in there but sounds like an amazing place to see! Especially if there's chocolate! And your'e right, all you really need is each other. NO MATTER WHAT.:D:D:D:D:D
