Make them like spaceships ... after all this is Tommorrowland. Maybe enclose it and have it be similar Spaceship Earth???

I've been screaming for a long time to get rid of the cars and replace them with "Cars" stars like Lightning McQueen, Mator, Sally, etc. The kids would wait forever to get on them, and think how cheap it would be to replace them!

This is what I was telling my wife that they should do with it when we were on the people mover the other day.. I think they should redo all of tomorrow land.. maybe make half of it a new tomorrow land and make the other half (closest to Fantasy Land) into a "Cars Land" like they have in California.

I did read somewhere that the people mover is going to be down all summer while they rehab it.. hopefully this is just the start of them completely redoing that part of the park.. it is seriously dated.

Fine idea (assuming Cars Land is never coming east) -- and they should be electric, with a trackless ride system. It is Tomorrowland after all, not 1960's Fossil Fuel Land. :)

I always thought they should take the DLP approach and make it akin to Jules Verne sci-fi.
Move the Pixar attractions to DHS and put new attraictions in their place.

My problem with the speedway is that it's based on the internal combustion engine...an idea from the mid-1800's. How or why in the world was this ever considered to be futuristic attraction for tomorrowland? I think mustang_man_25 is right, replace it with something else.

That's what I have been saying as well. Too bad Disney doesn't accept ideas from common folks as ourselves, but I think either a Cars Land or a Planes Land would be perfecto!

I think other Parks like Busch Gardens, Kings Dominion, Hershey Park, etc... were doing those car rides at the time and Disney just did as well --like the "dark rides" which were once popular in the 50's.
Let's update, baby! Zoom! Zoom!

Make the cars futuristic electric and somehow prevent people from slamming into the back of you and I'd be perfectly happy.

What if they went test track style on it?

I think the speedway should be replaced because I don't think it fits either Fantasyland or Tomorrowland. However, I don't think they should "update" Tomorrowland. I think it should keep the theme of what we thought the future would look like back in the 80s, when the Jetsons came out. I like the retro-future design. IMHO, I say let Future World in Epcot keep up with the real technological advances.

How about magnetic cars that hover in the air like the bullet trains. Of course, there would have to be force fields around the cars so they don't bump into each other.

Yea, boot all the Pixar outta of Tomorrowland, and dispatch them, along with Stitch, to the Studios.
Just one more reason why they should build a Pixar 5th gate and move everything Pixar related there. Then think of what they could do in the other parks with the extra space.

You know that seems doable...they'll be tethered to the track and that point could control their speed. Could not go to high for risk of falling on it's side. I don't know how bullet trains effect pacemakers though...you may have more magnetism on a little cart.

What if they went with the luigi tires method? It'd look like a little everglades boat and float on air? It could still use a braking system tethered to the track.
