American Idol Experience To Close

I would be seriously ecstatic if they killed this attraction early especially if it comes with new attraction announcements.
Nothing to be ecstatic about, unless good, hardworking people losing jobs they're passionate about makes you happy. But if it is closing at the end of September all they're going to do is move the Frozen sing-along in that spot. It's (for some reason) is pulling in record guest satisfaction scores and they're currently auditioning more talent for it. Chances are good they are not going to bring new blood into the company just for a couple of weeks (which is when the show is scheduled to close) so the word is flying around frantically backstage at the park that it will be extended beyond "Frozen Summer Fun"

Disney doesn't lay people off when they close attractions, they just relocate them to other attractions. Idol is part of what they call "EPIC" so most are probably already cross-trained at Indy and Star Tours anyway.
The operation people may be classified as that (the people who seat you) but the casting directors, stage specialists, cosmetology, producers, show techs, equity talent will lose their jobs unless something opens up on property opens up for them.

As mentioned, all indications point to the Frozen sing-a-long being moved from the Premier Theater into this space.

Personally, I think that it's a reasonable move, as long as the AIE theater is still earmarked for Star Wars at some point in the near future. In my ideal world, the Frozen sing-a-long moves in for a few months, while a more permanent, higher quality show for Frozen moves into either BatB or VOTLM space. (The other one could be used for a Tangled or less likely PatF show.) Then Frozen moves out of the AIE theater and frees it up for an indoor Jedi training or whatever.

From what I'm told by my gf (she just went down for a couple days to visit a friend), one of the CMs or whomever it is that tries to lure you in for auditions was saying this to guests (some paraphrasing):

"Come on in! Our last day is September 30 so this might be your last chance to audition!"

The words around the date are paraphrasing, but when I told my gf that they might be closing the attraction, she destinctly remembered that date without me telling her any information from this thread

No one would be loosing there jobs, the staff will simply be transferred to other areas. As for moving The frozen sing along, I think thats a great idea.

We've seen the sing a-long several times with our 10 year old granddaughter and have really enjoyed it ! It is like a breath of fresh air, along with the other Frozen attractions, to a very stale Park that we haven't visited in a couple years (we're locals and have gone about at least a dozen times in the 2 years) so this definitely drew us back for a couple of visits. The show is great but the only criticism I would have of the show is that maybe the Historians should lay off some of the caffeine!! ;) Must be the Starbucks influence.

The major cut backs in entertainment have been chronicled in very much detail these past few years so with lack of options to go to, there certainly will be people losing their jobs once this closed. In fact, there have already been a handful of people who have once they went from five shows to three a day. The operations side is good but the entertainment side is definitely at risk.

Do you know what or if anything will replace it?

Nope. Ive heard conflicting info. Either they will tear the stage & stuff out and leave it empty (Unlikely IMO) or move the Frozen sing-a-long and adapt the existing stage to the show. (More likely)

What i do know? Theres gonna be gooooooood pallets at property control in the future.

The cast currently have schedules that go past October 1st. After sitting through many of their greenroom meetings in the past week, nothing has been said about it closing in September instead of January.

Well, what did they say?

Because I'll be straight up, I'm getting this from entertainment people themselves.
