Hey guys,

I've always been facinated to find out how disney stuff works. I've done a lot of research about the american adventure and how all the different scenes are underground on a big "train like" thing that slides alone and the difference scenes pop up into view. Does anyone have a picture of this train with the different scenes on it or is their a book on it or anything? When I Was there last time, a CM told me he woulda gladly taken me down there earlier in the day when they had a tour under there. I was so mad.....GRRR;)

Anyway, thanks for any help you can give!

We took the behind the scenes tour last year that took you there. Unfortunately, they were doing some maintenance on the train so we couldn't see it operating.

Of course cameras were not allowed. The train actually begins under the audience and as each scene changes the train pulls forward very quietly. It was a very interesting tour.

yeah, and if you sit in the front row, you feel the vibrations of the train under the floor...it's a really cool process...I still wonder how big those things are, but then it explains why the show is on the second floor.

I totally forgot that you walked upstairs to go to the show. I was thinking last night "Man! they had to dig pretty far underground to put in the cart of Audio Animatronics!" :hammer:

I wanna go on that tour so bad!

You want to find a copy of `Backstage Magic - The American Adventure`, 1982, hosted by Lloyd Bridges. Interviews with Pricniple Imagineers, lots of footage of the design and construction of the pavilion (and some VERY interesting abandoned concepts) and lots of footage of the `War Wagon` train (semi official name) in action.
I`m sure there is a copy at Disney Central.

I remember seeing a behind-the-scenes special in the early 90s that featured the American Adventure's AA train. It basically looked like a huge barge with various scenes on it, but my memory might be fuzzy. I was only about 10 years old! I've never taken the Backstage Magic tour.

I just had a quick scan through and couldn`t find it on any of the open servers, although I could have sworn it was popkid. It may have been SirLamer - wait until he`s back online.
