Buena Park, Calif. – It’s official: Knott's Berry Farm is reopening its gates next month as the theme park safely resumes regular operations with limited capacity and new reservation requirements. The park will reopen to season passholders May 6, with plans for a grand reopening to the general public on May 21 for a summer-long, Knott’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. "The Knott's Family Reunion" looks to reunite family and friends in a safe and fun environment after a year-long closure due to COVID-19.

New and unforgettable experiences await in honor of the park's 100 years of history and family fun for all. During the 100th anniversary celebration, guests can experience the brand-new Knott's Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, a 4-D interactive dark ride that pays tribute to the classic attraction from 35 years ago. Guests also will have the opportunity to meet Knott's all-new lovable costumed characters and enjoy special evening entertainment as Knott's Summer Nights returns with live music, DJs, and one-of-a-kind food and drink specialties. In addition, the theme park is planning a nightly ceremony featuring multiple attractions lighting up the evening and culminating in a special moment with the redesigned illuminated K-tower. Guests also will find festive new park décor, including special photo settings that pay homage to favorite attractions from the past and commemorative merchandise celebrating the park's vast history. These are just a few of the many special surprises that can only come from your friends at Knott's.

The anniversary celebration runs through September 6, 2021. In accordance with current state guidelines, capacity will be limited and available to California residents only with reservations required for both single-day visits and Season Passholders. Ticket sales and reservations will be available starting April 26.

All 2020 and 2021 season passes purchased through May 5, 2021, will be valid through May 5, 2022. Knott's Season Passes are now available starting at $101 or six easy payments of $13.50 after an initial payment. Gold Passes are $135 or six easy payments of just $17.00 after an initial payment. Information regarding Soak City Waterpark will be coming soon. These offers end on June 20, 2021. Applicable taxes and fees apply. Payment plans are only available at knotts.com.

Well, the sooner they allow passholders to visit, the sooner the expiration date states. So passes will be valid through May 5th, 2022.

But Knott's is planning a big Media Day for May 21st to kick off their 100th Anniversary events. So that was chosen for the GP opening.

Fine by me as a local, but I do hope they do something for the out of state passholder who likely won't be allowed in until at least June.

Since Knott's is part of the Cedar Fair group, highly doubt it. Knott's is Cedar Fair's only year round park.

It is expected that sometime next year. Knott's will reach out to its SP holders with a partial year renewal program for the May 6th through December 31st, at a reduced rate as compared to the other parks in the chain.

That was their plan last year before extending through the end of the year and then beyond. But Knott's used to have some pass levels that worked on 12 months from date of purchase, so they could go back to that I suppose.

That was a long time ago, when Knott's used a different ticketing system than the rest of the chain. When Cedar Fair went to a new chain wide system, Knott's converted all the old AP's to SP's. The SP renewal program is done chainwide, including pricing and shifting monthly payment plans. (The earlier you buy/renew, the more months you can spread the amount due).

Cedar Fair will make all passes stay Season Passes for a variety of reasons, including Platinum's. Since the May 6th date is before any other park in the chain opens, it doesn't impact other parks in the chain.

Things are changing at Cedar Fair/Knott's.

Cedar Fair has named two new Senior VP's, each in charge of half the parks.

The North East section is now Jason McClure's half, promoted from GM of Cedar Point.

Now, Raffi Kaprelyan was the Senior VP for the California parks, so it looks like he has retired/moved on.

And Jon Storbeck's name was missing from the Knott's announcement posted yesterday. He signed every other COVID update that was posted. So looks like a new GM will be announced shortly.

Not with the money they bring in for Knott's. Once they stop bringing in money, then Knott's will stop renewing thier contract.

There are several passholders who come, spend all day in the parks who wouldn't have bought Knott's passes had they not been there and they end up spending money during the day.

It will be interesting to see what groups they get for Summer Nights this year as well.
