Great, now I want to go to Ohio.... especially since I found out that I can upgrade my Knott's pass at any Cedar Fair park if Knott's is still closed......lol

Looks like we are going the second half of August, Cedar Point at Hotel Breakers, Kings Island, Columbus Zoo, Ark Encounter, and hopefully the Indy 500!.

Then back in June of 2021.

Going to get maximum use of the Season Pass, Food and Drink Plans, Funpix plan, etc.

They've turned the street in front of the marketplace into a picnic area. That's fun!

I've been meaning to ask...

What the heck is this?!? It's not just miniature golf, it's like micro-mini golf reduced down to the molecular level? But you use big PVC plumbing pipes instead of a golf club? And then... you have fun? I don't get it.
It was part of Knott's summer nights promotion. As part of the concert, they had oversized lawn games for the kids to play free. Besides golf, they had oversized connect-4, bean bag toss and oversized tic-tac-toe & checkers. They even had a Pinewood derby track with prebuild cars. It was modeled after a kid carnival that was played at family reunions. There were also firepits for making s'mores.

Actually it was really really good and extremely popular. Think Food & Wine with live concerts, DJs and kid games. They even had walk around summer time characters like Duncan Disorderly and Anita Drink. It was like a big backyard party.

Why can't Disney be creative with their special events?

Call me old fashioned but as a kid as long as I could mine for gold and visit the haunted shack and get held up at gunpoint on the train I was sound as a pound. I didn't need mini golf at Knott's

>>Both Kings Island and Cedar Point amusement parks are ready for visitors this summer; however, there will be new safety and hygiene protocols put in place.

Kings Island is set to reopen to season pass holders between July 2-11 and daily ticketholders on July 12 after being shut down for months amid COVID-19.

“We are ready to welcome our guests back to Kings Island for some long-overdue fun,” said Mike Koontz, the general manager of Kings Island. “The park’s new health and safety protocols align with CDC recommendations, and have been shaped by information from company and industry health and safety experts, along with our state and local government officials.”

New protocols include:

  • A new online reservation system; each guest is required to have a reservation prior to their visit to enable capacity management
  • A requirement to complete a pre-visit health screening declaration 24 hours prior to admission
  • A touchless temperature screening prior to entering the facility for both guests and associates
  • Requirements for all guests, associates, and vendors to wear masks as directed by the protocols
  • Social distancing markers throughout the park, including ride queue lines
  • Limited guest/associate contact
  • Enhanced cleaning procedures, including additional deep cleaning and sanitization of restrooms, dining facilities and other busy areas
  • Additional hand sanitization stations
  • Capacity management throughout the park
Officials will send emails to passholders, inviting them to make their online reservations.

An opening date for Soak City water park is to be determined.

All guests are asked to download Kings Island’s free mobile app to make a reservation and facilitate their park visit.

Cedar Point
Similar to Kings Island, Cedar Point is slowly reopening its park.

The amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, will initially open to Season, Gold and Platinum passholders on July 9- 0.

On July 11, the park will welcome Cedar Point Resorts guests and those with pre-purchased tickets.

Cedar Point’s Hotel Breakers and Lighthouse Point RV sites will be open June 12-27, prior to Cedar Point’s opening

“The safety of all of our guests and associates has always been, and will always be our top priority. We’re looking forward to returning to summertime fun in a safe and healthy manner,” said Jason McClure, the vice president and general manager of Cedar Point.

The park has also put in new health and safety protocols for both visitors and park staff.

In order to visit, all guest will have to make a reservation to visit the park through the Cedar Point mobile app or at cedarpoint.com.

  • Health Screening – all guests must complete a health screening declaration within the Cedar Point mobile app 24 hours prior to entering the park.
  • Temperature Screening – guests and associates will undergo a touchless temperature screening prior to entering the park.
  • Face Coverings – guests and associates will be required to wear a mask at all times.
  • Social Distancing – markers and signage will be placed throughout the park to assist with social distancing of at least six feet.
  • Touchless transactions, limited guest/associate contact
  • Enhanced cleaning procedures in high-touch areas: dining locations, hotel rooms and restrooms. Hand sanitization stations will be located throughout the park.
All 2020 Cedar Point Season, Gold or Platinum Passholders will receive an email to make reservations first, followed by guests who have pre-purchased tickets.

Reservation availability for guests who have not yet purchased a park ticket will be announced at a later date.<<

You can still pan for gold and get held up gunpoint on the train. The games are for little kids as their parents get drunk watching the band. They are not for you and kids seem to love it. They are also free. It reminds me of the days when Disneyland cast members would bring out rope to skip or hula hoops for passing kids to enjoy. Cast members used to play with the kids.
