Hi guys, we are staying at the All Stars Movies hotel in November. First time on Disney property! Any hints/tips you can give us to make the best of this resort? One day I will still in a Disney deluxe hotel! One day!
Thanks in advance xx

I've stayed in the range of hotels from the All Stars/Pop Century, moderates, to the deluxes. I have no problem with the All Stars in general, other than that the rooms are a little bit smaller and generally come with two double beds. It was perfect when the kids were smaller, but got a little bit tighter when they grew. Although there is no sit-down restaurant, I always enjoyed the food court with numerous options, and there is a bar area by the main pool. Not sure of your family situation or traveling companions, but its not a bad way to get your first on-property experience. Enjoy!

You will really enjoy for your first stay on property. IMO, the value resorts seem to have a higher energy and more hustle and bustle than the other resorts...which is great if you have kids. I really enjoy the foodcourts and having different options of food to choose from.

All Star Movies is so much fun! We were in the Mighty Ducks section which is on the edge of the resort, allowing us to catch the Music bus if need be, and walk back. However, it's also still a less than 5 minute walk to the Movies lobby. Love the compact-ness of the resort.

We loved Movies. It is our favorite of all of the All Stars. My one recommendation would be to look into a preferred room. Depending on your length of stay it shouldn't be that much to add and it will get you right next to the main building. There is nothing worse than getting off the bus from a long day at the park and having to walk 1/4 mile back to your room.

Will you have a car? The All Star resorts only have a food court and pizza delivery available, so having a car gives you many more dining options, even if you're staying on property. Sure, you can take buses to any of the parks or to Disney Springs, and from there to a different resort. But if you wanted to go to, say, one of the restaurants in the Animal Kingdom Lodge...or the Boardwalk Dining/Entertainment district (or a restaurant in the Swan or Dolphin)...Wilderness Lodge, or Fort Wilderness...even a restaurant in one of the moderates...it helps to have a car.

It's not so bad if you have reservations at one of the monorail resorts. Because...you know...monorail.

And don't get me wrong, you don't NEED a car, but you will need to allow yourself much more traveling time if you have reservations somewhere if you don't have a car, just in case you wind up waiting unusually long for a bus or other means of transportation.

Out of the All-Stars, Movies is definitely the best and I've enjoyed both trips that I've stayed there! Movies definitely has an extra touch of Disney magic that Sports and Music don't quite have (in my opinion). In terms of staying on-site for the first time, I'd say take advantage of the transportation! I absolutely love not having to drive back from the parks at the end of a long day.
I hope you have a wonderful trip! :)

Thanks very much, we are unsure whether to get a car or not at the moment. If we fly into Sanford then for sure we will, if we go to MCO then we will book Magical Express. To be honest it would be a lovely break for my husband not to have to drive (and I am useless driving in the UK anyway so wouldnt trust myself LOL), I do see the positives of having one, and jump in the car after the fireworks and not to have to wait for the bus etc.. xx thanks for your response - appreciate it xx

Thank you so much for your reply. I am so glad you enjoyed the Movies one the most, I thought the characters would be perfect for my 2 year old daughter to enjoy :) xx

we've stayed at movies many times. it's a cute resort. rooms are small, but you're out all day anyway. it's nice to have buses taking you everywhere.
not a bad food court. nice selections. good gift shop too, toiletries included.
as someone else has posted, I'd look into a preferred room. you'll be closer to the main building & food court. Hope you enjoy!

My DW LOVES ASMo. We are the type to spend little time at the resort. The pool is great. The food court had something for everyone. Heck the pizza was actually decent. Florida pizza can end up being similar to cardboard. Plus November is a great time to go. You should have a wonderful time! Enjoy.

Thank you - the times I have been to Florida before its been June time and really hot (for a Brit) with massive rainfall (too much for a Brit too!) ha ha - thinking November a great time before Thanksgiving too so hoping that crowd levels will be lower. i really can't wait. Its my first time on Disney property. :)

actually just switched to this resort today. was booked for French Quarter, but their food court is having a big renovation & might not be reopened when we get there.
little disappointed, but it saves me $930. can't argue with that.:greedy:
