AKL / BC Club level advance check in

Hello all,
We are staying club level this trip and wondering about the on line check in. I know when you check in at the desk you can kind of negotiate for a room of your liking (close to an elevator, better view etc.) That is the time to ask if anything unique has opened up.
We are tempted to do the online check in, but then does this mean we forgo the personalized front desk check in?
Has anyone done it either way and do you have a preference? If we check in on line we can go directly to our room as soon as it is ready and we get the text message. However if we are not happy with the room have we lost an opportunity to fix it? They are club level so I don't think there are any poor room choices, but we want it to be perfect!
Much Thanks
Rick

The process isn't really any different in club level than in a regular room other than the fact that none of the rooms in club level will be "bad," as you mentioned. I'm not familiar with Beach Club, but the club level rooms at Animal Kingdom are pretty much all right next to each other, all on the same floor, and all on the savanna. There's not much requesting that's even possible to differentiate one room from another.

You're going to get assigned to a room a few days before you arrive regardless of whether you do online check-in or not. It's not like you sit in a pool of unassigned people and they hold off until you actually show up and make your requests. Do the online check-in, make whatever requests seem best to you in the online check-in system, but of course you can go to the front desk if you're not happy with your room for some reason.

I can't speak about online check in for club level at AKL or BC, but it does absolutely nothing at Poly club. For all 4 of our stays in the last year, we still needed to check in with the club concierge upon arrival as we never received a room text, despite having used online check in. Perhaps the resorts want to maintain personal interaction with club level guests? Club guests are typically escorted to the club lounge upon arrival where check in takes place (the front desk won't do it.)

If you have a specific location request (high floor, near elevator, near transportation) contact your club concierge (one from each resort should have already contacted you) and have it noted on your reservation now.

We have stayed club level at both locations as well as several others. Check in is similar at all resorts when you stay club level, but getting there can be hit or miss. What I mean by that is we have been greated upon exiting the ME by a cast member less than half the time we've stayed CL. When we were greeted, we were immediately taken to the club lounge for check in and the kids were able to get snacks and relax. We never requested a specific room, but we were given a resort map at YC and asked to pick any room and if it were open we would get it (we were reminded, however, that we had an excellent room by the CM checking us in. We took what we had and loved it!!!!). We always put our special requests when we make our reservation. Sometimes, these requests changed, but we never had any issues getting what we wanted (ex. bunk beds at AKL, arusha view at AKL, water view at YC and GF, etc). Good luck and have a great trip!

I spoke with Beach Club Concierge tonight on behalf of clients I have checking in there tomorrow. They are CL as well but had the exact same question. They wanted water view, and second choice close to elevators. The nice CM explained that there are no water views on CL at BC but only standard views of parking lots, hatched rooftops, and possibly, a tiny slice of a water view. What she suggested was to skip the online check in, and she would personally note the reservation "best view possible, or close to elevators" right on their system. This gets priority over the online check in requests she said. She said "The room placement actually isn't chosen several days prior, but the morning of, when it's marked clean." Call in and talk to Concierge directly. Worth a shot!!
