I'm wondering if they cut down foliage in front of it or something as I don't remember it being so prominent.

Looks like one big construction zone, at least for now. It should become an outstanding park once Avatar, Rivers of Light, and the other nighttime entertainment open within the next couple years, though

Thanks for the post! I was there in June and it appeared the steel was topped off for the "flyer". Pretty impressed with how fast they are sheathing it and getting the mesh on the rock locations.

Wish we had some way to get a photo of the "floating" rock structures as work proceeds. That'd be a fun one to watch.

I wonder if Discovery Island will get new costumes once all the projects are complete. The current color scheme doesn't really jive with the new low-key, dark colors. I never really noticed until this photo update.

It's real. Giraffes also look fake but most of the giraffes in the park are real, live animals.
