:( Just saw it on the news.

Very hard, and very sad to believe that "America's Newsman", "The most trusted man in America" and the narrator of SSE 1986 is gone.

Ahhhh that's terrible. I remember hearing about him being ill. I hope he gets the media attention he deserves after he gave so much to the media!

I am SO depressed.

Is there a quality copy of the show he did with Robin Williams for the pre-show at the Studios anywhere?

You know, I would be nice if they did release it as a special feature on a dvd of Walter Cronkite's life now.

He also did the narration for the Peace on Earth tag during Illuminations: ROE during the holiday season.

I wonder if this will change this year. I don't think it is necessay, but I wonder.

In any case, this is saddenning news. Thank you, Walter Cronkite.

He was so much more than a narrator. I grew up in the 60's listening to him - through the assassinations, the protests, and the amazing space missions. He guided us all with integrity and humanity, and saw the roll of news of the world as something so important, so vital, and so interesting that we faithfully looked forward to his broadcasts.

Thank you Walter for a job well done!
