A question about Kids Club

My family is taking our first cruise on the Dream in April. We will be traveling with our 7 year old son. I want to send to the kids club so he can hang out with some kids his own age. My question is when is the best time to send him there? I don't want him missing anything really cool on the ship because he's there but I also want him to play. Any advice? Also, how do you sign up for it?. Thanks!

The Personal Navigator will have a list of activities going on at the Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab. So you can plan his day at the clubs right along with yours and make sure he does not miss any of the family activities or any of the kids club activities. My kids (at the time 7,6) love Super Sloppy Science and the Where's My Hook game, they also went to Pluto's Pajama Party and had a blast.

You can pre-register them when you do the on-line check in and pick up the band when you board, there will be plenty of directions telling you where to go for youth activities.

They are pretty well spread out throughout the day. I will warn you the clubs have video games, computers, arts and crafts and movies running all the time, as well as some of the coolest play areas with all sorts of toys and games. So even if there is not an organized activity going on, there will be plenty for the kids to do all the time.
I do recommend you go to the open house on the first day so you can take a look at the Club's for yourself - it really is impressive.

I will warn you now... forget about seeing your son for the day and most of the night once he enters the Oceaneer's Lab. My daughter pretty much wants to live 24/7 in the kid's area while on board. All she has talked about is going back to it on our cruises coming up on January 12th and 19th. There is a lot to do on board but I am willing to bet that your son will be willing to miss all of those other activities in order to have fun the Oceaneer's Lab. Hope you have a great cruise in April. You will love the Dream it is a beautiful ship with so much to see and do (which is why we have a back to back cruise planned this month).
