Trip Report A long overdue August 2017 Trip Report

Hello Everyone :), I haven't posted a trip report since 2014 so I am a bit rusty. I had all of the photos for this trip saved in a file marked trip report but I never got back to it, however since I have seen a lot of other people posting older trip reports I was hoping no one would mind if I added mine. This particular trip almost didn't happen because at the time my father was very sick and we were not sure how much longer he would be with us. I talked it over with my parents and my dad encouraged my husband and I to go. I am so glad we did because I have the most wonderful memory of sharing the photos with my father and talking about everything we did.

When: August 14-20, 2017
Where: All Star Sports

We actually left on August 13 and flew to Toronto to stay overnight with my DH's brother and then flew to Orlando the next morning.

I was getting hangry about this time so we stopped at Satu'li Canteen. We both enjoyed our meals there. I got the beef and DH got the fish.

By the time we finished our dinner we needed to find a spot to watch the fireworks. Because I am short we decided to stand close to the castle. It ended up being a decent choice although it did get a little claustrophobic while we were waiting. Once the show started I forgot about the huge crowd.

I thought these next 3 pics looked pretty cool :).

This was our 4th trip to WDW but our 1st time on the Teacups because I was worried that DH would spin them too fast. I made him promise to refrain from trying to make me dizzy before we went on and thankfully he kept his promise. I know he must have been tempted though.

It was an amazing day :D. We loved Pandora in AK and FOP was fantastic. The land was smaller than expected but very well done. Thankful that we had much better luck during EMH at MK then we did at Epcot.

Very sorry, I missed your comment! We did have a fantastic time. We took things a bit slower because of the heat but still got a lot done. Love Tangerine Cafe :hungry:.

Thursday, August 17th

Today we started off in Epcot and I remember that it was a scorcher. This was the day that I had orange on my neck for some of the photos. I think it was from my necklace but not sure. It is a cheap one but it's mickey shaped so I love it lol. When I saw my neck I asked my DH why the heck he had not told me - he said he didn't notice :rolleyes:.

We had plans to tour World Showcase for the morning/early afternoon because walking around in the brutal heat is a great idea 😆.

Thanks for following :). I was surprised how good the castle photos turned out during the fireworks show as they were taken with my phone. My camera takes good pictures during the day but not so much at night.

First up was the Safari. Normally I love the safari but this one was extremely frustrating. I know that the drivers cannot stop for more than a few seconds but this guy did not stop at all so it was almost impossible to get a decent pic. He just kept driving and barely talking.

I was trying to snap pictures as fast as I could because you don't often see the lions active and I was so disappointed that the driver did not even give us a few seconds to enjoy it :confused:.
