Longtime DVC members celebrating two milestones with a resort stay and a cruise!
Well, now I'm sorry I left it all behind (because "no more stuff") and now they've changed up the swag.Love the color of your swag !
Yes, I think I am the only one still here! We still all cruise, though, every September! This year on the Destiny!I remember this! Seems like you’re one of the only ones from that group still active on these forums.
Everything about a Disney ship is gorgeous. My hubby really doesn't want to cruise with any other line.I love your room! Joe is a huge fan of cruising. We have yet to try a Disney cruise, someday I hope to.
The rooms are.gorgeous on the Triton class ships. As.much as I love the oak.finishes on the classic ships, the lighter coloured wood on the Wish and the Treasure (and, I assume, the Destiny) give the rooms a very different feel.Love the Aladdin picture behind the bed. I am also a fan of the stair rule, it makes me feel less bad about all the eating, drinking and lounging
I couldn't ride medium to big coasters, and would get seasick as well. This patch changed everything.Reason #617 why Tu won't cruise (though your room looks absolutely lovely.)
Sadly the first day of our son's family's first cruise (in April) sounds similar - though even worse - than yours. Cast members and long time cruisers aboard the ship called it "the roughest waters we've ever experienced!" While I would never wish seasickness on anyone, the grands will never again ask me why I won't go on a cruise.
(tell me I'm old without saying it, hahahaha)That's a very nice photo of you and your "fella"I thought, heck, we’re all dressed up, let’s get a photo! We queued up for the photographer at the “Juliet balcony” on Deck 5, with the atrium chandelier as backdrop. This line is crawling, so I decide we should go down to Deck 4, where there are several photo stations—characters, backdrop, on the stairs, in front of the statue…Deck 4 was pandemonium. I made us queue for the “stairs” photo. There was a lovely family just ahead of us, mom, dad, two girls and a small boy, all dressed to the nines. After a bit, the dad jumped ship from the “stairs” to the “backdrop”. Many minutes later, not having moved, and having observed their progress, we made the jump as well.
My fella looks sharp in his bowtie, eh??
Just WOW!! This is the way!We stopped into the Haunted Mansion Parlor a few times over the course of our cruise, so this post will just share pictures and thoughts on what I would call the best themed space on any DCL ship (the Skyline lounge on the Dream/Fantasy comes really close, but this wins).
I was really disappointed in the Hyperspace Lounge on the Wish. They could have done so much more with it. It was too bright and too bare. All it had going for it was the giant screen behind the bar with Star Wars space imagery. The drinks were super expensive, and the décor looked like it came from HomeGoods. Brutal, but honest, IMO.
The HMP experience is immersive from the entry hall. Once the door is opened, it’s amazing! The “show” lasts 45 minutes, according to a CM. Much of it is low-key, but when the clock strikes, 13, wow. All the changing portraits come to life, the chandeliers blink on and off, a ghostly band appears over the bar, and Madame Leota makes an appearance! Spectacular. Sorry for the bad lighting on many of the pictures, as you can imagine, the atmosphere doesn’t make for great photography.

In the center of the room is a haunted aquarium that often appears empty, then has skeletal fish swimming around in it.

I found out that the haunted aquarium was actually part of the original brainstorming for the HM attraction, Rolly Crump designed it. The bust pictured below is of imangineer Rolly Crump. He features prominently in the room.

This bar and the overall theming of the Treasure is one of the reasons I’d be tempted to sail the newer ships, I’m not interested in the Wish unless it has an itinerary that I’d really like to do. It looks amazingWe stopped into the Haunted Mansion Parlor a few times over the course of our cruise, so this post will just share pictures and thoughts on what I would call the best themed space on any DCL ship (the Skyline lounge on the Dream/Fantasy comes really close, but this wins).
