We had
Love the color of your swag !
Well, now I'm sorry I left it all behind (because "no more stuff") and now they've changed up the swag.
I remember this! Seems like you’re one of the only ones from that group still active on these forums.
Yes, I think I am the only one still here! We still all cruise, though, every September! This year on the Destiny!
I love your room! Joe is a huge fan of cruising. We have yet to try a Disney cruise, someday I hope to.
Everything about a Disney ship is gorgeous. My hubby really doesn't want to cruise with any other line.

Hey, since Joe liked his no-parks WDW trip so much, I'm sure DCL would be an easy sell.
Love the Aladdin picture behind the bed. I am also a fan of the stair rule, it makes me feel less bad about all the eating, drinking and lounging
The rooms are.gorgeous on the Triton class ships. As.much as I love the oak.finishes on the classic ships, the lighter coloured wood on the Wish and the Treasure (and, I assume, the Destiny) give the rooms a very different feel.

Reason #617 why Tu won't cruise (though your room looks absolutely lovely.)

Sadly the first day of our son's family's first cruise (in April) sounds similar - though even worse - than yours. Cast members and long time cruisers aboard the ship called it "the roughest waters we've ever experienced!" While I would never wish seasickness on anyone, the grands will never again ask me why I won't go on a cruise.
I couldn't ride medium to big coasters, and would get seasick as well. This patch changed everything.

Saturday, March 21 (continued)

We had the late seating for dinner, 8:15, which meant we had plenty of time to unpack and get settled, and change for dinner. We would sit for the early show at the theater, or we could do trivia or one of the many other entertainment offerings on board, such as the musicians in Skipper Society. One of the drawbacks I notice in the Triton class ships (the Wish and the Treasure, I’ll explore the Destiny with the Girls in September this year) as compared to the classic ships, is the lack of spaces for live music. They really only have bands in Skipper Society (The Bayou on the Wish), Scat Cat Lounge (Nightingale’s) and the Grand Hall. Personally, I find the lack of live music a drawback.

Because this is a pretty text-heavy post, here are some photos of the the lobby of the Treasure and the GORGEOUS mosaic work.

We chose to do 70’s Music Trivia before dinner. It took place in Triton’s Lounge, a space that I think is far too small for purpose. Mostly they did adult trivia contests in there, and occasionally a family event in the early afternoon. Over the course of the seven nights, the adult events were overcrowded, with people standing and being turned away.

This first night, however, was not over crowded, just pleasantly full. The entertainment host, Berto, was so much fun. Before the trivia started, a lady in the room went up to the front to take a photo of the medals on display, they featured Chip and Dale. She told Berto that she loved Chip & Dale, and she hadn’t a hope of winning a medal, so she wanted a photo of it.

Long story short, having been born in the mid 60s (ok, technically 62 and 63 are the early 60s), Seventies music is our specialty, and we won. Yay us. Because I am actually now nearing my mid-60s, I am in a “I don’t need more stuff” phase, and when Berto gave us the two Chip & Dale medals, I went over to the lovely English lady who’d had no hope of winning but loved Chip & Dale, and told her I’d be delighted if she’d take my medal. She was very happy to have it, and we chatted for a few minutes, I asked where in England she was from, and she said “I’m from Yorkshire, from the City of York, actually”, and I said, “well, I’m from New York, so there you go”, and we had a laugh over it. The reason she had no hope of winning is because she was born in the mid 70s. :cautious: (tell me I'm old without saying it, hahahaha)

Here’s our medal.

We were assigned to have dinner in Coco. Had I known this, I would have taken us to 1923 for lunch. I already mentioned that I am an adventurous eater, however, my beloved is what I would call a timid eater. I suggested to him that he would enjoy the pork tenderloin dish, with maple jus, whipped boniato and chard. He ordered the pasta, because he thought he couldn’t possibly enjoy “Mexican food”, which he perceives to be very spicy.

I have no pics of my meal (I had the delicious pork tenderloin!) as we were seated at a table of 6 with two other couples, and since we arrived a bit late on account of our trivia win and my York-ish chat, we got the middle seats on either side of the table! Our dinner companions were very pleasant, an English couple who were already Pearl on DCL, and a couple from North Carolina, and we all made the best of it. First nights dining with strangers are always odd, but we were quite friendly by the last night. Since none of them indulged in food pics, neither did I. Sorry. :( But, for the record, R should have listened to me. The pasta was unremarkable.

After dinner, we went to Scat Cat Lounge, the piano bar, because I was intrigued by the description of the set—“Hollywood Tower Hour with Julian”. It turned out that this was Julian’s very first night as a DCL cast member, and he made a memorable evening for his guests! Maybe not everyone would be into 1940s tunes, but he made it fun.

Interestingly, the lovely server Fior recognized me from my cruise with the Girls last September. That is the mark of an excellent hostess. She'd started out with, "forgive me, but you look familiar", and when I said I'd sailed on the Treasure back in September with a large group of ladies, she said "ohhhhhh, the ladies!". We do tend to make an impression. 😊

I think they were able to take on some feedback from the Wish, as Scat Cat Lounge is differently laid out to Nightingale’s. While Nightingale’s is much prettier, Scat Cat is more functional. Instead of being along the back wall next to the piano, the bar is in the left corner, and even opens out to a bar counter serving the lobby.

From Scat Cat Lounge, we headed aft, and called it a night. Cruise Day #1 complete!

Sunday, March 22 – At Sea

Sea days are my favorites.

We could have elected Palo brunch, but R prefers Palo dinner. Since I’m platinum, I get one Palo meal for free. Honestly, for me, on the Triton ships, I feel that brunch is better than dinner, but it’s his birthday cruise, so it would be to his preference.

Normally onboard, I would start my day with an energetic walk, but R would prefer to walk after sustenance, if he has to walk at all.

So, we breakfasted at 1923, with me dressed for the gym (since the Triton class ships did away with “laps on Deck 4”, I have to hit the treadmill on Deck 5). At the podium, I recognized John, our server from the Girls Cruise in September. He was an excellent server and so must have gotten a promotion since then, to direct seating. I said hi, and he replied that he knew I was familiar but he didn’t want to be bold and ask. :D Somehow, I neglected to memorialize my breakfast. His probably involved bacon and eggs and bread, and I’m pretty sure I would have asked for hash browns and grilled tomato. Personally, I like the breakfast buffet that would be served at Marceline Market (Cabana’s!) but #compromisefor40.

I noticed on the Navigator app (I really miss the paper navigators!) that General Knowledge trivia was upcoming. I’m pretty good at that, so I’ll postpone the gym. And right after that is the DVC member presentation in Sarabi, we have to go to that in case we might win the $250 onboard credit that they give out, right? AND, one of our goals was to see Zootopia 2, and that was showing right after DVC. It’s looking like I’m wasting at least one cruise outfit, since I’m still in my gym leggings.

Off to General Knowledge in Triton. And whaddya know, we won! Captured the very classy, somewhat rare DCL Ship medal!! Woo-hoo!

1780539119908.png

I don’t recall donating this medal to anyone, but we only brought one home, I have no idea what happened to the second one. I do recall that there were two rather raucous young ladies who were confident throughout the game (because they announced it each time they knew an answer) and eager to win, but did not—since there are always four medals allotted for each contest, Berto gave them two even though they came in second. The girls put the medals around their necks and carried on as though they’d won. I’m sure there are words for this sort of activity, but I will not search them out.

Next, the DVC Member Celebration, where they give out free booze (and a soft drink for those who don’t indulge). It’s midday on a sea day, so why not?

1780539139513.png

They were offering the non-alcoholic Cloudem, which is a trippy (though non-alcoholic) beverage with a pearly shimmer throughout (the pearly shimmer is the trippy part). I have a dear Girls Cruise friend who loves the stuff, and encouraged my sweetie to take one—“it tastes like apple juice!”. I took a glass of the prosecco that they’d put God-only-knows-what into to turn it blue, just like the Cloudem. Yuck. Glad I also grabbed us some fancy aluminum bottles of Dasani.

1780539151260.png

At the end of the Member Celebration, they always bring out a character meet and greet. This time, it was Captain Mickey!!! Exciting, but we didn’t stay. We had a movie to get to! So I creeped this photo.

1780539161784.png

On now to the Wonderland Cinema for Zootopia 2. The newer ships have two movie theaters, the Wonderland and the Neverland. Both have impressive corridor décor.

1780539175520.png

1780539184582.png

We enjoyed the movie. My intention to hit the treadmill was further delayed by the fact that we were now hungry and ready for lunch. We decided to hit up the Festival of Foods on Deck 11.

Finally, a food pic!! His hot dog, and my chicken tenders. You know you love them.

1780539198014.png

After lunch, I will finally head to Deck 5 and the Senses (Spa??) treadmills for a 30 minute walk. Total honesty, I hate the treadmill, would much rather walk in the fresh air, but you just can’t get around a Triton class ship the same way you can any of the classic ships. Even if you thought it would be cool to include a flight of stairs in your walk, you can only access the stairs forward from Deck 4 to 5, the aft stairs from 5 to 4 are roped off. Yeah, it might be cool that Deck 6 lets you access all the way forward, but unless you’re Jack and Rose…

Exercise complete, I did decide to walk back to our room via Deck 4, and happened upon a couple of ‘munks all ready for formal night!!!

Sunday, March 22 – At Sea, Part II

Tonight’s show in the Walt Disney Theatre is Seas the Adventure, an original production showcasing Captain Minnie, and starring Goofy the janitor as he pursues his dream of captaining a ship. I make a point of attending the original productions, though they are few now, subsumed by the staging of animated movies. I object to the productions re-creating animated Disney movies! They are like a live-production of a live-action version of the original animated masterpieces. I’ve seen Moana, and Beauty and the Beast, and Tangled. They are brilliant animated motion pictures, and if I want to see their stories again, I’ll watch the DVD.

For all that Believe is hokey, it’s an original story, so I applaud it. Disney Dreams may be a bit schmaltz, but it’s an original! I don’t really enjoy Twice Charmed (it’s a little too “My Cousin Vinny” for me), but I’ll go and watch it, because it’s an original story. If they EVER remove the Golden Mickeys from the Dream, I will stop cruising with DCL.

We enjoyed Seas the Adventure, and I managed to not cry, like I did the first time I saw it. Because the show was relatively short, we had time to get back to our stateroom and change for formal night. We would be dining in 1923.

I thought, heck, we’re all dressed up, let’s get a photo! We queued up for the photographer at the “Juliet balcony” on Deck 5, with the atrium chandelier as backdrop. This line is crawling, so I decide we should go down to Deck 4, where there are several photo stations—characters, backdrop, on the stairs, in front of the statue…Deck 4 was pandemonium. I made us queue for the “stairs” photo. There was a lovely family just ahead of us, mom, dad, two girls and a small boy, all dressed to the nines. After a bit, the dad jumped ship from the “stairs” to the “backdrop”. Many minutes later, not having moved, and having observed their progress, we made the jump as well.

My fella looks sharp in his bowtie, eh??

1780542686614.png

My notes say Filet Mignon for dinner, with a “choc something” for our tablemate’s birthday and our anniversary.

On our way back to the room after dinner, we did finally get our photo at the “Juliet balcony” on Deck 5. It’s not the best angle (hello, double chins!), but the chandelier was the point 😉 It's a stunner!

Changed out of our glad rags, we went to listen to the band in Skipper Society.

Skipper Society is a really well-themed space! It contains many homages to the Jungle Cruise.

First of all, the stage proscenium—you’ll recognize the “awning”, and there are plenty of jungle animals featured.

1780623753483.png

On either side of the bar, which faces the stage, are a pair of what I’d call “snugs”, both of which are richly themed.

This one is the more fun of the two. You can easily spot the paddles with 55 and 71, and I don’t have to tell you people what those numbers represent, and y’all will also take note of the light fixture, which gives a nod to the Tiki Tiki Room. I’m sure several of you will zoom in and find even more Easter eggs!

1780623945228.png

Behind the bar are some Jungle Cruise-based quips! Very entertaining.

1780623977568.png

Sadly, we weren’t really enamoured of the band playing in Skipper during our cruise. They didn’t seem a band, as much as a collection of musicians that DCL hired and then threw together. They seemed to be going for modern hard rock, which really didn’t fit the area.

Trivia is also hosted in Skipper Society, and we would attend a few of those, which drew more crowds than the musical act.

When I was on the Treasure in Sept. 2025, they had a great band in Skipper, and they drew a crowd every night. They also played 70s-80s rock, but with more feeling, and maybe a bit more affection for the music (sorry, band geek going off here) Because I can’t resist, here’s a photo from last September, when the band was good, and maybe just because the leader was giving off heavy Angus Young vibes. Meanwhile, I’m just noticing that the keyboard player looks like he just graduated high school.

1780623715896.png

It’s a very well-themed space that I think is not put to its best use. Similar to The Bayou on the Wish, which is absolutely gorgeous, but not fit for purpose.

That's a very nice photo of you and your "fella" :)

Your floral dress is very pretty, too.

We stopped into the Haunted Mansion Parlor a few times over the course of our cruise, so this post will just share pictures and thoughts on what I would call the best themed space on any DCL ship (the Skyline lounge on the Dream/Fantasy comes really close, but this wins).

I was really disappointed in the Hyperspace Lounge on the Wish. They could have done so much more with it. It was too bright and too bare. All it had going for it was the giant screen behind the bar with Star Wars space imagery. The drinks were super expensive, and the décor looked like it came from HomeGoods. Brutal, but honest, IMO.

The HMP experience is immersive from the entry hall. Once the door is opened, it’s amazing! The “show” lasts 45 minutes, according to a CM. Much of it is low-key, but when the clock strikes, 13, wow. All the changing portraits come to life, the chandeliers blink on and off, a ghostly band appears over the bar, and Madame Leota makes an appearance! Spectacular. Sorry for the bad lighting on many of the pictures, as you can imagine, the atmosphere doesn’t make for great photography.

In the center of the room is a haunted aquarium that often appears empty, then has skeletal fish swimming around in it.

I found out that the haunted aquarium was actually part of the original brainstorming for the HM attraction, Rolly Crump designed it. The bust pictured below is of imangineer Rolly Crump. He features prominently in the room.

This bar and the overall theming of the Treasure is one of the reasons I’d be tempted to sail the newer ships, I’m not interested in the Wish unless it has an itinerary that I’d really like to do. It looks amazing

What did you think of the drinks there?
