"From bright suns to rising moons, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge continues to call travelers to the magic of Batuu, especially with the excitement of Walt Disney World Resort’s 18-month anniversary celebration getting closer and closer. As we ramp up to “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring our 50th anniversary, we’re continuing to enhance experiences thanks to the feedback from our guests.

We know our guests love choice and flexibility when planning their time in a theme park—which is why, starting Sept. 23, we will pause the use of virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios may experience this incredible attraction using a traditional standby queue for the first time since it opened in 2019.

Virtual queues continue to be helpful with attraction access, merchandise launches, grand openings and more, and guests should continue to check the My Disney Experience app for the latest on how we’re using virtual queues across Walt Disney World Resort including its potential use at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at a later date, or from time to time. Or if you prefer to experience the rest of the incredible attractions Hollywood Studios has to offer and not wait in the standby queue all day to ride this one attraction, you have the option to purchase a faster queue experience. More details are forthcoming to allow you the flexibility of experiencing the magic your way.”

They seem careful to use the word pause not remove.

That means there is more to the story.

Maybe with Remy going to virtual queue and the launch of Genie+, they can only use so much bandwidth or whatever? This way, they still have just one virtual queue attraction which shifts from HS to EP.

Hmm. Not sure what to think. On the one hand, not worrying about getting within 7 seconds or whatever at 7am and 1pm. On the other hand, long queues like MFSR?
To be fair, lines have been so short recently, MFSR hardly ever has a wait longer than an hour. Who’s to say what happens in October once the 50th starts though.

But my guess is if they’re comfortable removing the virtual queue they aren’t expecting super long waits.

They can easily scale up their services if they use a cloud platform like AWS or such, so doubt it’s that. Probably relating to LL coming soon.

You guys are absolutely incredible. It takes a lot of headspace to maintain this level of cognitive dissonance and not go crazy.

People complained for *two years* about how much they hated virtual queue only. Now the exact same people are complaining that it's going away.
I hate BG's but dont kid yourself, this is 100% a money grab
