Reducing prices is verboten. Offering select discounts and/or perks is the only bullet in their gun if attendance falls off.
Unprecedented DEMAND!!!!

Shrinkflation. Pay the same for less.

Although this is something that people rarely bring up in this thread or any other threads complaining about Disney's price hikes. The price of everything has gone up in the past year so. It's inflation. Why would Disney not raise prices too I guess?

The big question I think about often though is will they lower prices when inflation starts to ease? It seems to me that instead they would introduce new (or return old) perks to justify keeping the prices where they are.
Companies have been doing this long before the pandemic

Alright kids....

Here is something to liven up the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World -

As promised,
i will be giving away FREE Tony Baxter inspired art postcards to anyone who would like to have a pair on October 1st at the Magic Kingdom.

These are professionally printed postcards featuring hand drawn artwork by yours truly, and i also have a few 'Tony Baxter Fan Club' stickers available.

I will be hanging out at the exit area of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ...the 'Photo Spot' area directly outside as you exit the Attraction.
Look for my straw 'jungle' hat...which i will be wearing that day.

I will be there starting at 1pm until 1:30 on October 1st , so come by and say hello!
Spread the word ...these are for everyone, Cast included !
:)

I had a great time doing these giveaways in the past a couple of years ago , and met some great fans like @trainplane3 and @Epcot82Guy.
Looking forward to meeting some fellow enthusiasts on the 'big day'...!

This thread needs some photos.

We can have our own 50th Celebration right here.

Here are some choice shots, showing some nostalgic goodness -

Notice how it still looks like a construction zone in this area.

I still have my 1979/1980 'Eastern' luggage tag from my first visit -

These photos are amazing!

Just wish the 50th anniversary of the resort was about the resort....

And the newly remodeled rooms that no longer feel contemporary
Are we talking truly contemporary or in keeping with the ongoing mid-century modern remodel of the Contemporary Resort? If the former, that’s a moving target. If the latter, both spaces absolutely pull from the same design lexicon. The execution of the IP-related details in the rooms just has a cheapening effect.

His followup isn't helping.

Is he someone important?

Why are people taking the hot takes of some rando on the internet with only 1,500 followers and plopping them into our forums?

People want back up for their opinions? A straw man to knock down?

It's like when someone posts a video of someone ranting for 20 minutes because they agree with them, and they have like 200 followers.

[Sorry to vent at you @brb1006! 😁]

Nothing wrong Penguin, it's only a matter of time until he suddenly joins this site making similar statements.

I guess it's just the cheapening effect. The room doesn't feel like a Contemporary resort room to me, it feels like the nickelodeon hotel with decals.

I think it's just a personal thing, I hate it when they put IPs into things.
