Usually you can go in 15-20 minutes before hand without issue. On lower crowd days you can cut it even tighter.

Any update on when the tumble monkeys are coming back?

I think they’ll quietly not bring them back and run with the current show for as long as they can.
I was told that mid-sept was a target to get the show back to normal, but that was admittedly pre-Delta (I also expected B&tB to come back without COVID reblocking, and we saw how that went).

I unfortunately expect that date will be pushed back, because if they were switching back mid-September you’d be hearing about rehearsals by now.

…pay more…hire more…you’re already charging more…

lather, rinse, repeat

I get it but what happens in 3 weeks time when everyone is back and healthy? Run 14 shows a day instead of 8? Don’t get me wrong I’m usually the first to say they should pay and hire more people but a specialised role such as a performer on this can’t just be moved elsewhere.

Move them to other closed venues?
was really disappointed with this show when we went a few weeks ago. So many things were cut and that were the highlight of the show.
Yes…but it’s a really OLD show. We need to ask for a little more for our money.

Such as? Fantasmic? Nemo? Little Mermaid?
It wouldn’t work. You can’t just dump a trapeze artist in Nemo and say you’re part of the chorus now.

Either way by the time you auditioned, hired and rehearsed these new employees the original casts would have recovered long ago.

True…a full show is better

but it’s a 25 year old show using rehashed parade floats

some things are more “old and cheap” than “timeless”
I would put festival of lion king (full show with a good cast) in the timeless category.

Actually... many cast members work many different shows. I remember seeing one of the voices of Liberty singing in the rotunda one day and dancing with clarabelle cow on the Magic kingdom stage the next night night.

Likewise, I once saw citizen of Hollywood fan favorite Jack Diamond host the Lights Motors Action show.

That’s one of the benefits of having so many shows up and running, you have large casts to pull from to fill in roles as needed. When you cut it down to the bare minimum, you’re in trouble when things go bad.

..or lay them off? But I was trying to be optimistic 👍🏻

Probably because dak was underbuilt and continues to be so to this day. It should be just an innings eater…like beauty and the beast was

but it’s heading down the same path

'A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King' at Disney's Animal Kingdom significantly impacted as staffing levels remain challenging

Indiana Jones suffered a similar same fate this week as well. The 4:45 and 6:00 shows were all cancelled for four days in a row this past week.

We saw this show a couple days before Christmas. I didn't tell my parents about the revised/modified show just to see their reactions. When I asked them afterwards their first reaction was where were the tumblers?! They also vaguely remember people flying and stuff during the "Can You Feel the Love" segment. I then told them it was modified when it returned a couple months ago.

Then when we saw the Beauty and the Beast show in HS a day later, they also noticed how no one touched hands, danced with one another -- especially Belle and the Beast. Then the ending where they walk one by one down the stairs instead of together! Seemed weird. They laughed afterwards and joked about how this was a "contact-less show" now, which technically it is.

They were also bummed how Voyage of LM is gone (or hasnt returned) now.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Question - are broadway shows running with changes In choreography?
I just saw the touring production of Come From Away perform at The Tennessee Theatre, no social distancing..
At some point isn’t this just a budget cut
Yep.
(I’m assuming all the shows have a smaller cast now? Not sure)
It looks like Indiana Jones didn't cut that many(?) But all the others, it sure does seem to be that way.
