I'm too scared to go to Disney World

I have to fly 2000 miles to get to WDW. My trip normally takes 12 hours from the moment I leave my house to the moment I arrive at my Disney hotel. I have been seriously considering a trip for next week, or for January 2021. But I don't dare because:

1. I worry that Disney World (parks and hotels) might get shut down like Disneyland Paris while I'm there.
2. I worry that airplanes might get grounded, so that I can't make it home for weeks or months.

Reasons I want to go so badly:

1. The Skyliner. I've never got on it, I really want to try it.
2. The Grand Floridian Walkway. I want to walk on it badly.
1. The skyliner is pretty neat, but I don’t think it’s going anywhere.
2. I have not seen this personally, but I suspect it’s similar to many other sidewalks at WDW.

I definitely would also like to go back. We canceled so many great trips this year. Next trip is currently scheduled for October 2021. Hoping things will look better for us then and that you get to go on a trip sometime soon and safe.

Not being a local, I'd wait until September 2021. With the latest vaccine info showing May 2021 being the earliest that it might be safe that could send a lot of families to the parks over the summer. If things truly improve then most kids will be physically in school next year which would mean empty parks come September. Vaccine, Food & Wine, and lower crowds, count me in. Just stay away on the 50th, that day could really suck.

Love Pup...
You are not scared, you are being SMART & CAUTIOUS for your safety as well as others, by choosing not to go! I don't think anyone on here will condemn you for cancelling your trip until a better time IN LATE 2021!

Everyone has to assess what they are willing to do according to the risk they are willing to take and how comfortable they are in going. For some people, they wont be stepping foot into WDW for a looong loooong time. Others will hop on that plane as soon as they can justify the expense of a trip. We are all individuals with the freedom to live our lives as we see fit. Youll make the call to go back when its right for you.

Then stay away until you are comfortable going, that's pretty simple ehh? My wife and I are only 6 hours away by truck so we'll be back there again next week. We were there in September for a week and had a blast and didn't contract any illnesses (which is a first in quite a few trips) as the preventative measures, decreased capacity in the parks, and increased sanitation measures have removed a lot of the usual guest spreading of colds and flu strains (because they couldn't be bothered impacting their plans due to illness).

As stated by others - wait until you are comfortable. My flight was only 2.5 hours, my son's flight was, with change of aircraft in Texas almost 8 hours. Flights very clean and safe, airports very watchful to make sure that social distancing is observed and enforced. Magical Express followed all 'rules' and you picked up your own luggage at airport and brought it to the ME. At the parks you are reminded about the Covid19 rules regarding masks, etc. Saw some guests who violated the mask directions spoken to by staff. There are signs posted that advise you that if you violate the rules you will be escorted out of the park. So my family felt very safe while there and on our flights. We are still healthy with no concerns.

Welllll - us too. Not all WDW - not willing to get into a COVID Airline tin can :(.
We just canceled APR 2021.
I've flown several times in the last few months. Everyone is masked up and most that I saw were wiping down the trays and chair backs of their airline seats. I fly first flight in the morning outbound and return. I can still smell the disinfectant that is sprayed on the entire interior of the plane by the cleaning crew. No issues from me.

Wait--I'm confused...I thought you've been already hence why you've "given up on Pop" because they have the Skyliner and you didn't like the Skyliner (but was also confused because in the same thread you mentioned you loved the Skyliner)!! Regardless, if you feel that you're going to get stranded in FL, don't go.
