Hope no on is planning on riding today. The headliner has been malfunctioning all day & they stopped entry around 1230pm. We got in line at 12pm (still waiting) but people who came at 8am to ride have still been waiting. They even announced they aren’t giving any passes whatsoever if the ride doesn’t reopen (even if you’ve waited four hours). First day at Disney and instantly wishing we just stayed at Universal or Disneyland, which Universal gave me a fast pass to Hagrids even though we finished the ride and had to sit on the break run for only 20 mins. Also Maxpass>Genie. Good luck for those trying to ride this at all throughout the rest of this year!

…if you’re comparing that to hagrids…you might be better off not riding

Depends what we are comparing. Two highly troubled, complicated rides that opened over 2 years ago should be compared, as one has came a long way and one is still having to turn away full-paying guests (some even more who did LL+). Just got off after over 3+ hours & all the effects weren’t working and it never opened back up during another high demand season. I think it’s very fair to compare two highly complicated systems that have been well open but you’re free to compare what you’d like…

My post was also to point out
that people got told there will be an “oh well” after waiting 5+ hours in line but “less is more” is normalized here.

The cannons on both coasts are so troublesome, seems so straightforward and yet...

Same for the probe droid, a Mr. Toad level effect and it keeps breaking?? I don't get it lol.
From what I have heard from some CMs (so take this with a grain of salt) the cannons were one of the main problems with the ride breaking down. If true, expect 2 and 3 to be off for quite sometime/indefinitely. Can’t speak for the probe droid but it was stationary all last week.

I just meant one is way more enjoyable…if they both work

but I agree with everything you said too

So like…less going on than the great movie ride?…with less interesting characters?

🤔

i kid…sorta

Sounds like the problems I saw last night still persists today. I wrote about it in the Genie+ thread of how they were only running half capacity and only allowing one standby party and rest being LL’s at a time.

So, ROTR is having a pretty rough day today. The ride went down for about a 1.5 hours. I stood right outside the entrance around 3:20 and when standby reopened at 4:10 they immediately put it at a 3 hour wait. I exited the ride at 6:35 pm and the standby was close to 4 hours by then.

Here's the catch, CMs immediately told us upon reopening the ride will be running at half capacity and they will be prioritizing LL's. So I was like great, an elevator broke. But the real problem was they were only running 2 out of the 4 interrogation rooms/loads. Room #2 and #7 were out of commission.

Also, they were only taking one party from standby and filling the rest with LL's for the Rey debreifing room.

LL return queue times was upwards of 1-2 hours and man people were lined up.

Pictures of LL line and switchbacks^^

I was a single rider, but I partied up with the family behind me so they can go in earlier with me into the debreif room lol.

That makes sense. I was keeping an eye on the ride last night and it was at 220 minutes at 8:50 pm. I think the same problems ran into today but worse.

It was still stationary today sadly, as well as Kylo on B mode. Since they only allowed those in line to finish the ride after 1230, that told me they are running at very limited capacity but it wasn’t completely shut down. I just checked and it still isn’t open either. Hope my first ride on Mickey’s Railroad goes better haha .

Haha very true! Really wish my brother’s first ride today was as amazing as mines when it was working well & new.

Rise was posting a wait time briefly around 4:20, but went down again around 4:40.

What a tease, I see that it just reopened right now too. Those people waiting for 5+ hours since the park opened said it broke down 5 times as they crossed us (they were escorting a lot of people through the backstage doors to use the restroom). Hopefully people will be able to ride tonight.

What would even cause them to only run 2 of the 4 interrogation rooms/loads? Usually half capacity means that one of the elevators is broken, hence they run only 1 RV at a time. But this is a whole new type of half capacity that I don't think has ever been mentioned anywhere yet.

Maybe 2 (or possibly even 1) of the drop shafts are broken? This would allow 2 RVs to depart and go through the ride together, but the dispatches would have to be twice a long.

After 2 years, I finally went on this. @Sirwalterraleigh was right. It’s cool, but not cool enough to make up for how much of a technical disaster it is. The ride broke down twice in line. The wait was 3 hours in total which caused me to miss a Lightning Lane for Mickey. Thankfully the CM at Mickey was completely understanding. They know it is a mess.

Edit: Oh yeah, and Kylo was on B mode. I don’t think it would’ve changed my impression of the ride up that much anyways.

Got in line today because I rarely come to the parks these days and figured the wait time was an exaggeration (we had ridden a couple of months ago and waited like a quarter of the advertised time.)

About 80% of the way in and....it broke down. And apparently the average time is an hour for downtime. I'm about to nope out of here.

This seems to be such a frequent occurrence. Not good at all for a ride entering its 3rd year of operation.

I stayed and ended up riding. Final Kylo was down. Wait was 145m posted and I got on 2hrs with the delay which was probably half an hour.
That sounds to be about the same amount of time as I waited for each breakdown (there were two). I am wondering if Kylo is the problem child of this operation? Perhaps if he breaks down, they try to fix him for 30 minutes before just moving on and putting people through anyways? I know that some rides are shutdown temporarily if XYZ effects aren’t working (besides Splash Mountain, that one goes with multiple things not working all of the time). I guess when you have an attraction like Rise, with limited set pieces and show stopping moments, each individual scene carries more weight.

I’ve also heard that there’s issues with the elevators, and the ride can’t exactly function if both of them aren’t working. I really hope they figure out the main issues and solve them soon because it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous.

Kyle AA at the end hasn't been working since like early December iirc. I think it's the same case over at DL also.

The problems currently are the elevators from what I can tell and inference.

I can't believe they can't keep a brand new attraction working reliably. I'm not buying the excuse, "Well, it's a very complex ride". We're going on 3 years for this thing. You'd think they could work out all these bugs by now. Very disappointing...
