So, we're planning our trip for the 50th Anniversary already. I was wondering what kind of % markup should I add to WDW tickets for an accurate(ish) price? TYI
I assume you are talking about the "actual" 50th anniversary date of 10/1/2021? Because you can bet Disney will "celebrate" the 50th for at least a year. Was going to post about this but saw your thread. Im wondering when booking will begin? I can only imagine how fast the resorts will book up once booking begins! especially the MK hotels. Id love to hear some past experiences from ones that booked and stayed during past anniversaries, in particular the 40th and 45th when it came to access into the MK vers guests who park at the TTC and take the monorail and or boat. I know some guests camped out and arrived at 4am to get into the MK and mostly for the limited merchandise. As we can all imagine the 50th will be off the chain when it comes to crowds, all the limited merchandise, etc.
Curious if DVC members are already able to book for the 50th?
And if you're planning ahead, note that October 1, 2021 will be a Friday.
On a “regular” day (9 am open) the resort monorail and buses begin operating between 7-7:15 am and guests must wait outside the turnstiles until 8 am, when they are allowed into the park to wander Main Street/wait in the Castle hub until the park officially opens at 9. (Cast members prevent guests from moving towards the lands.)When it comes to staying at the MK hotels, mostly the contemporary, you basically get in first to MK before TTC guests right? Not sure about busses.
Most of the rumors at the moment seemed to say a large portion of the celebration will be from May 2021 through 2022. Considering my kids are still in school, the best I can do is sometime within the summer. Here we are not allowed to pull our kids out of school for more than 3 days without the school's permission. If you do it anyway, they can bring you to court.Bear in mind that the 50th celebration will not begin until October 1, 2021.
Rumors are just that. Yes, some of the new attractions may be open prior to 10/1/21, but “everything” that is planned for the celebration (decorations, parades, character meets, special food and merchandise) will unlikely be available prior to the official anniversary. If you want the full experience you should plan for spring/summer 2022.Most of the rumors at the moment seemed to say a large portion of the celebration will be from May 2021 through 2022. The express monorail from the TTC and the ferries begin operations around 8, so technically resort guests are inside the park before those arriving from the TTC, but the only line they get a jump on is at Starbucks!
Now Fridays are typically Extra Magic Mornings for resort guests which means they alone have park access for the first hour before official opening. TTC arrivals are held at the TTC until a few minutes prior to opening. October 1, 2021 is a Friday, but whether there is EMH that morning, or the park opens early for press, or opens early for crowds control, is pure speculation at this point.
To sum up, Disney resort guests have a slight advantage to arriving at the park first, but the monorail resort guests do not have a greater advantage over those arriving by bus.
