4 Band trips to WDW in 5 Years!

I'm probably one of the more well-traveled "band geeks" on these boards.

I've been to WDW once - performed at MK parade and our steel drum band performed at MGM & PI

Been to DL twice, we marched in the parade and held a massive pep-rallies for UW before the rose bowl.

Pasadena, CA (Rose Bowl) (2x)
Las Vegas
Washington, DC
New York City
Tampa (Outback Bowl)
Tuscon (Copperbowl)
El Paso (Sun Bowl)
The Final Four in Indy

Big Ten road trips:
Michigan (2x)
Michigan State
Minnesota
Northwestern (2x)
Ohio State
Iowa

I've also followed the teams on NCAA Tourney trips to
Boise, ID
Grand Rapids, MI (2x...once for hockey, once for womens BB)
Minneapolis, MN
Chicago, IL

By the time I graduated college, the seniors got shirts made that said "been there done that"

Have any of you ever been to Ireland on a band trip? My HS went to WDW, Mardi Gras (twice), Knoxville, TN, and Washington DC while I was there, and then they went to Ireland a couple years after I graduated. I have heard that other bands go to Ireland too , but I never understood why they would want to spend all that $$ to go there. We obviously had great trips at Moody HS though!

My band didn't go to Ireland but we went to England for 12 days a couple of years ago. That was fun we everything from Stonehenge to Castles to Cathedrals. Since we're from Rochester, MI the tour group arrainged for us to play in Rochester, England and meet the mayor. Our band director even exchanged city flags with him. It was pretty cool.

I play Clarinet. My band was supposed to go last February but because of 9-11 the school district banned all school trips that involved flying or out of country travel. My band directors decided they didn't want to spend 26 hours on a bus with 100 teenagers, so we ended up going to Cleveland, Ohio. It wasn't as much fun as WDW would have been. My marching band also goes to band camp every year at Michigan State University for a week. It was always sooooo much fun. I'm gonna miss it this year since I've graduated and are no longer in the marching band.:(

If you go back in this thread a bit you'll see the picture of my Chorus group. Now Imagine the band is just about the same size (including our colorguard girls, maybe a bit bigger)
We took airplanes to FL... I think we occupied like 3 or 4of them...
it didnt take near as long as it would have on a bus and all our chapperones were VERY happy about that.
BTW... out of that ENTIRE GROUP. I was the ONLY ONE to get a pat down at the airport
