Some photos from DAK that MagliteL13 & I took today. The walkway was still closed, part of the wall was down, and there was a big flatbed truck on the pathway. Upon closer examination (and zooming in with the camera) it looks like its cargo was...logs?
(log, log, its better than bad, its good!)

Celestia, did you get to see the train going? They were once again testing this afternoon. That lift hill is suprisingly speedy.

Also interesting to note- it looked as though they made some of the former walls near the attraction's entrance into half-walls. Perhaps it will be a similar set-up as when they pushed the M:S walls back.

Hmmm... I'm willing to bet Yeti.

There aren't too many trees on the peak of Mt. Everest. Or inside it for that matter.

No trees = no logs.

Indeed but lets not get over excited, i remember lots of crazy things said about The Mummy, damn it was good but people were saying it would change my life and theme parks forever, but really it was just another ride.

But you are right the themeing (sp?) is great and it does big but will it still feel big when you're on it? The village is cool, a nice touch!

I'm defo looking forward to it...

Yes, but the difference between the Mummy and Everest is that around this point of construction, Universal was already hyping up how amazing the ride was going to be. Whereas Disney has not had a single commercial or advertisement geared solely toward Everest. The ads made the Mummy seem like such an amazing ride (which it is pretty amazing), but I didn't walk off of it feeling quite as amazed as I thought that I should have.

Everest on the other hand... No one knows what's going on inside there, but just by the looks of the mountain, you can tell it's going to be incredible. Plus everything we've heard straight from the source (Joe Rohde) about the Yeti, etc. You can bet that Everest is the real deal.

Yes, the scaffolding is down, except for around the part where the train goes back into the mountain.

Also, the log is now over on the semi right next to the Yeti shrine. I think it's being installed there. Also over there, the path from Asia is walled off and behind it there is a bunch of dirt from where the path was dug up and there are construction lights for at night. I'm guessing they're widening the path there.

Also, all along the path in front of the wall, they were putting up flags today. And about the half wall, it looked nice seeing a lot more of the queue area, even in the places where they had taken parts of the wall down. Lots of Imagineers were out (you can tell from their hard hats).

I think a huge part of the anticipation of EE is that no one really knows what it will be like. Granted, I have yet to ride the Mummy or Indiana Jones, but I think that there is a similarity based on the knowledge I have of both rides. Please, correct me if I am wrong, but there is a lot of things these rides have in common right? Once again, I can't say any of this for sure, since I repeat that I haven't ridden either ride. I think a lot of people knew this before they stepped foot on the Mummy. EE on the other hand, is a total mystery. It could be like BTM, but we have no real idea. Honestly, I love that I don't know. I love the fact that I want to know nothing about it until I ride it for the first time. If possible, I might even avoid seeing pictures of the Yeti and other pictures of the ride when it is completed.

The Mummy and Indiana Jones are very different. Indiana Jones is exactly like Dinosaur at AK. The Mummy is an indoor roller coaster, much like RnRC without the loops.

I think its Yeti because Rhode said that the yeti was the color of the mountain and that looks like the color!

It's not the yeti...it is definitely something tree-like. There is even a huge tree-cutter type vehicle (and it is HUGE) over by the shrine as well. I don't know if it's doing something with the trees, or if it's doing something else. It's almost like a well-digger of sorts.
