It was a great year for Disney films in 2010 according to the Academy. Disney received 11 nominations in total. Including the Best Picture nod for Toy Story 3.

Here are the nominations they received.__

Toy Story 3
Best Picture
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Animated Film
Best Original Song
Best Sound Editing

Alice In Wonderland
Best Art Direction
Best Visual Effects
Best Costume Design

Tangled
Best Original Song

Tron: LEGACY
Best Sound Editing

Iron Man 2
Best Visual Effects

Some notes:

Tron does not receive a Best Score or Best Visual Effects nod? The Daft Punk score was a main ingredient behind the success of Legacy. I guess the academy doesn't enjoy the techno movement. However I felt that Legacy was snubbed from the visual effects category. The Grid looked so amazing and beautiful in Legacy. I guess the academy knows what they're doing.

Tangled receives no nomination for best animated film. Tangled was filled with a lot if heart and in a sense was return to the classic Disney animated storytelling. Granted Toy Story 3 was the better film, Tangled was also a good film.__

Finally, Randy Newman fails to receive a Best Score nod. The score during Toy Story was some of the best in the whole trilogy. Especially the last scene. It really gets into heart. But once again it's the academy.__

Any thoughts?

Toy Story 3 (2010)

I LOVED the first two Toy Stories movies. Toy Story is a beloved franchise that almost everyone that I know loves the first two films.

"Toy Story 3" starts off as comfortably as possible, with our friends Woody and Buzz Lightyear doing what they do the best...playing with Andy in his world of make-believe adventure. We are then treated to some familiar Pixar progression, like abandonment, solidarity, coming back to friends, and the passing of the torch.

Toy Story 3, I feel, was the best movie of 2010. I can't think of any other movie that was better.

I haven't seen the King's Speech though, I hear that was a great movie.
