1900 Park Fare or Ohana dinner?

We are staying at the Poly. Me, DH, DS who is almost 4. We had dinner last year at Ohana, but 1900 PF would be new to us. Our dinner at Ohana was unenjoyable due to a multitude of factors...cranky toddler, some of us were recovering from head colds, etc. I honestly don't remember how the food even was. I'd like to give it a second chance. However, recent reviews and the price increase leave me hesitant. Should we give it another try before writing it off? Or should we do 1900 PF for the great character interactions instead?

Of the two, with a 5 year old, I would pick 1900 Park Fare, just my preference. More food selections, my DS did not like the children’s selections and always ate grown up food. 1900 Park Fare also has character to in interact with which my DS always liked at that age.

1900 Park Fare in a heartbeat. Better food (with more variety) and the character interaction with the stepsisters is a hoot!

This is what I am leaning towards. I really want to see these characters. I can always get bread pudding from Tambu Lounge! (The only thing I remember being good at Ohana).

For me, Ohana is definitely better than 1900 Park Fare all around. Now, with a 5 year old I would say go to 1900 Park Fare because the characters are there. Both are good spots, but the never ending skewers of grilled meat, the wings, noodles, and that incredible bread pudding at Ohana make it one of my must go to restaurants every time I stay at Disney.

1900 Park Fare. No question. The character interaction there is some of the best you can get on property. The cast members and service are fantastic. And I have always found the food to be very good as well. Especially with a 4 year old, I think it would be your best choice.

Park Fare. Poly can be done a a breakfast and at least still be decent as the breakfast at Ohana is a bit different than the standard breakfast fair every where else on WDW.
Park Fair is great fun with Cinderella and her step sisters. The Step sisters are a blast! Wife and I did Park Fair a few days after our wedding and the cast members just had a blast with it, especially the sisters. The cast members as sisters really knew their characters well.
Poly did have Mickey, Minnie and Stitch at the time (6 years ago) I'd still go with the Park fare, better food better fun with characters. They engage with customers longer and more interaction as the charters are not in voiceless costumes. just waving at you.

We are doing Ohana for breakfast still, Stitch is a family favorite!

I just realized that on our last trip we met only "fur" characters, so it will be fun to get some face to face interactions this time! I feel like the step sisters are the main reason I want to book this :hilarious:

That's actually the best advice on character dining, go where your family has fun!
I enjoy both types of dining. We did Goofy's kitchen in DL, last year and that was a blast. Sure everyone was in furry character costumes, still had fun meeting characters. Minnie was the best table side and Goofy in the picture session was just awesome for someone that doesn't speak. At the same time, we've had princess dining at Cinderella's royal table and Askerhaus and both were a ton of fun too with the direct interaction.
Mary Poppins in UK EPCOT was one of the most fun IMHO. Wish they did a dinner with her. We sort of did as the same cast member was Snow White at Askerhaus few days earlier. :p

We have always preferred the O'hana dinner, certainly as a meal but the stepsisters are not to be missed. They are hilarious.

Are you doing other character meals? If so, then 'Ohana for sure. It's unique and the food is great.
We are doing ohana breakfast, garden grill and crystal palace. We did all three of those on our last trip.

I found an adr for 1900 park fare. So far i am keeping both that and ohana dinner, and will decide as we get closer which way to go! Leaning towards 1900 park fare though...

Unless you really care about Stitch, I'd highly suggest doing dinner at 'Ohana instead. The breakfast food at 'Ohana is as basic/boring as it gets (powdered eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, etc). It's nearly the exact same meal as Garden Grill. You'll find a lot more variety of breakfast foods at 1900, which a more unique dinner offering at 'Ohana.

I should have clarified, we are doing Ohana breakfast, and garden grill lunch. 1900 PF would be dinner as well. We also have a soft spot in our family for stitch. He was the first character my son loved :inlove:

If you can swing it I would do both and drop the garden grill lunch. I love Ohana, and 1900 was one of our favorite character meals. Both are at the top of the list, so you can't go wrong either way.
