Just a random thought but do you think if disney did a 1 day a year ticket prices 1000 dollars a piece the park would still be packed on that day? No passholders, just ticket buyers allowed in.

With dated multi-day tickets that wouldn’t work.

Firstly It would mean a day in the middle being blacked out. So they’d have to add a day to the validity of the tickets.

Secondly they couldn’t sell a week’s package with a 7 day ticket but not let you use one of the days. So either they have to throw in an extra night free, or reduce the price to be for 6 days but you stay 7.

Just charging for a 6 day ticket would mean they were forcing people to take a resort day. Some might be OK with that, others wouldn’t.

And even if they thought they could get away with forcing people to take a resort day, it would have to be clear at the time of booking. So it would need to be known over a year ahead, more like 18 months to allow for international guests who can book further ahead.

Is this a real question——as in you honestly don’t know the answer?

There is no way 75- 85,000 (the number of guests to pack up a Magic Kingdom) would pay that.

You’d see some “high rollers” walking around for sure but “packed”, no way.

I think posters are taking the OP literally. Theoretically Disney could have a hard close at 5 or 6 and have a very exclusive after hours event.

The number of CMs would far exceed the number of guests. A parade with almost no guests watching would be depressing.

You could book.a private tour for less then the ticket price.

On second thought I'd expect normal crowds. The event you suggest would be cancelled.

Nope. There wouldn’t be that many guests who could afford it or would take advantage of it. A sure money losing plan for sure. But hey… the way Dis does things lately, maybe they will seriously consider the idea.

I just feel like there are more than enough millionaires and famous people that would like to visit disney land and not be super crowded and would gladly pay a premium for a 1 day low capacity exclusive day.

In order for that ticket to be worth the price, it would have to be at least 1/5 as busy as a holiday party, so no, by definition it would not be packed.

You're the only poster in this thread who has that opinion. You're assuming all the extremely rich Disney fans want to go the same day.

A family of 4, $4,000. How much would a private tour cost?

Now if only they’d open the Starcruiser hotel again…

You know. The more I think about it. I’m sure somebody would pay.

If that is the thought, I think that if I were a millionaire I could find a massive number of things to spend my money on other than Goofy or a 5 ft. mouse. Even if they did, the income wouldn't equal what normal attendance generates. Don't forget that rich folks have an image to maintain. One cannot be a respected snob and go to a theme park. ;)

Say they capped tickets and absolutely promised a quarter of the usual crowds. To me that would be just about the perfect crowd level.

Average daily visitors to MK: 57,000

Average ticket price… difficult to calculate but let’s say $120.

Return: $6,840,000

A quarter of those visitors: 18,500

x $1,000: $18,500,000

So a decent business proposition for them.

I don’t think Disney would do it, but for a single day, yes, I think you could find 18,500 who would pay that, in a world with billions of people. For a family of 4 it would still be less than a private tour, and a tour doesn’t get you a picturesque, uncrowded Main Street or the chance to walk through the crowds without people crashing into you at every turn.

How much you figure a burger combo is going to be? I’m thinking $83.29

They also need to offset the money they’ll lose in the lot. So Mickey bars going to $17.49.

Is that a pure hypothetical to throw around and have fun with to analyze or a generalized prediction of the number you think are willing to pay $1,000 for one day

Because if you foresee(predict) such a number like 18k I think it’s time to rethink.
