Trip Report “Excuse me ma’am, can you put your phone away? Snow White doesn’t like apples” March 2019 *COMPLETED*

Sadly, I’ve been back in the real world for 4 days, but I’m glad to say that it was a great trip! Different, but still great. Surprisingly, the Disney depression is not very high (not sure if that’s a good thing :hilarious:), but I don’t want to take any risks, so let’s get this TR started!

For those of you who are just joining, I’d like to say welcome and feel free to read my PTR for background info.

Before I start, I want to warn everyone that I only have a month left before the semester is over. :joyfull: With that being said, the next 4 weeks might get extremely busy and I may not have a lot of time to post, so please bear with me. I don’t want to drag this TR out like I did with the last one, but I make no promises. :hilarious:

I scanned my MB, but no luck. Maybe one day though. ;)

OMG Adventureland was sooo freakin’ crowded! I was gonna do the Swiss Family Treehouse but I literally couldn’t get to it because there were so many people!

Everything had long lines, so I opted to go in the Pirates gift shop, but even that was crowded!

Not sure if this was for sale but boy did I want it.

I didn’t stay long before I headed back to LS to meet L. She was just meeting Mary Poppins when I got there. We made our way over to Fantasyland for FP #3.

We took the walkway that they’re widening between LS and Fantasyland. Tbh, I didn’t know that it even existed. :hilarious:

We arrived at our destination.

This was just the 2nd time that I’ve ever ridden 7DMT. I mean don’t get me wrong, I like it and it’s a fun ride, I’m just not obsessed with it like some people are.

While in line for 7DMT, I grabbed me a FP for Pooh, so I made the short walk over.

Next up: Pooh!

First of all, I really liked that photo of the bell (with the 2 flags in the background) at Liberty Square. I've seen so many photos of various places in the parks, but I don't recall ever seeing that particular image composition (maybe it was just the way your camera/phone framed it.) Very nice.

It’s hard to see, but there were some people at Club 33.

So, is this even open yet? Maybe I haven't kept up, but I haven't heard much at all about it for some time now. Maybe the people there were WDW employees, at this point in time? The other thing that surprised me about this was that they appeared to be on some sort of outside deck/porch area -- for whatever reason, I had just assumed that club would be indoors only. I "think" the original in Disneyland is just indoors, right?

Not sure if this was for sale but boy did I want it.

That's an attractive picture.

When I got off Pooh, L texted me saying that she was able to get both of us FPs for Dumbo, so I headed to Storybook Circus next.

L was waiting for me near the entrance.

Like PPF earlier, this wasn’t a FastPass, it was a SlowPass. We waited for at least 30mins! I was getting aggravated and was fixing to get out of the line. To make a long story short, some guest got into a verbal altercation with a CM, and the ride went down. It took forever for maintenance to appear. Anyways, they got Dumbo back up and I remained in line.

After Dumbo, we headed to Adventureland to get food. There was one item left that AJ from DFB keeps raving about that we both wanted to try.
B8819DBF-A7F2-497B-9DC0-C1081682B134.jpeg

The Adventureland spring rolls! :hungry::hungry:

Ok, I understand why she keeps raving about them. They’re fantastic! We both got 1 cheeseburger, which is the normal/standard flavor that they always have, and 1 Philly cheesesteak, which was the flavor of the month. Both flavors were great, but the cheeseburger was my favorite. If you haven’t tried them, you need to, but get there early because they sellout fast.

L had grabbed a FP for Pirates earlier with the intentions of me using it, so we swapped MBs and I walked on over.

OK, totally made my eyes water when you watched Illuminations for the last time :( I'll be there for the last showing and I already know I'm going to cry like a baby!

So sorry to hear about your sweet pup. Losing a pet is SO much more difficult than I ever thought possible. I'm sure she is waiting for you up there, playing with the other pups and eating all the treats!

You certainly pack a lot into your days at the parks, which is awesome! We're sun up to sun down kind of travelers so we tour the same style you do. Although in my old age, I have slowed down just a bit haha

Loving the TR so far (I have only read part of it so far!!)

The DL Club 33 has dining indoors but there is a balcony people can go out of that overlooks the river. I know some people who have watched Fantasmic from the Club 33 balcony before. Super jealous!!

I feel the same way! I really don’t get the hype for that ride. To me it’s just “fine”. Certainly not worth a long wait or worrying about getting a FastPass. But to each their own I suppose!

The 2 girls sitting next to me were very surprised when they found out that the “live actors” had been “replaced by animatronics” since their last trip in December. Also during their December trip, Jack was on the Wicked Wench and Barbossa was the one hiding behind the dresses. :bored: Mmmkay.

I got in line but had to go through the overflow queue because there were so many people. No, that’s not a typo. The treehouse really does have an overflow queue! It was a new experience for me because I didn’t know the overflow queue even existed! The is the freakin’ Swiss Family Treehouse for crying out loud! It’s never supposed to be crowded, right? Um, apparently not today.

After the treehouse, I went to Tomorrowland to meet up with L. It was 3:20 and FoF was going on. Obviously, going through the hub was out of the question, so I shot across to Frontierland. Boy was that a mistake! It was complete CHAOS! Everyone who watched the parade in LS was heading to Frontierland and everyone in Fantasyland was heading to LS. (not sure why) And to make matters worse, people kept walking into traffic instead of staying on the right side! :banghead: It took me nearly 30mins just to walk to Tomorrowland! This was one of many times that I was missing the WDWRR.

L, who’d ridden a couple of things I think, was going to stop in Cosmic Ray’s and get a snack. While she did that, I paid one of my favorites and one of the most underrated attractions a visit.

Great show as always! Nothing but classic Walt and Americana! I know this is where some people take their midday naps but not me!

L was still in Cosmic Ray’s, so I headed over there. Apparently she had to wait a long time for her order, so a CM gave her a bunch of these s’mores cookie things for free.

Now I’m not real big on marshmallows, but these were pretty good! They kinda reminded me of a pop tart.

We sat down for a bit to regroup and enjoy the view.

We grabbed a FP to meet Mickey and Minnie in their party attire, so we headed to the Town Square Theater next. I forgot to take a picture, but I signed the Celebration Guest Book that they have inside the theater.

Lilly was on display back in December when the WDWRR went down, but that didn’t last long and she was swapped out for Roger in January right before the track work between Main Street, Frontierland, and Fantasyland began. The track work was completed sometime during the last week of May. Roy has taken Roger’s place at Main Street Station and will most likely stay there until the WDWRR reopens. Roger left this past Wednesday for Strasburg for his overhaul and probably won’t be back until sometime around 2023ish.

New rails and ties had been laid out. The new ties are actually synthetic. My guess is that they might last longer than wooden ties.

I talked to one of the engineers for a while. I can’t remember her name but she was very friendly. She said that she’s been an engineer on the WDWRR since 2010 and is actually one of the trainers. We talked about the locomotives and Walter’s overhaul before saying goodbye. I enjoyed our conversation so much that I forgot to ring Roger’s bell!

Ok, I do like not having the 2 oak trees blocking the view of HM anymore. Gives it more of the look it had on opening day.

We arrived back to the dock. L grabbed a FP for the both of us for Small World, but our window wasn’t open just yet, so we went over to the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade to kill some time. (see what I did there? ;))

Must’ve been looking for redcoats.

The crowds were congested in Liberty Square, so we cut down the path that’s between HoP and the tables by the market. As we approached one of the hidden side doors to CHH, a grown women (30s or 40s) opened the door, stuck her head out, puked all over the pathway right in front of us, then stuck her head back in and closed the door like nothing happened. :jawdrop: What the hell?! This was the 3rd “yack encounter” of the trip!
