Trip Report “Excuse me ma’am, can you put your phone away? Snow White doesn’t like apples” March 2019 *COMPLETED*

Sadly, I’ve been back in the real world for 4 days, but I’m glad to say that it was a great trip! Different, but still great. Surprisingly, the Disney depression is not very high (not sure if that’s a good thing :hilarious:), but I don’t want to take any risks, so let’s get this TR started!

For those of you who are just joining, I’d like to say welcome and feel free to read my PTR for background info.

Before I start, I want to warn everyone that I only have a month left before the semester is over. :joyfull: With that being said, the next 4 weeks might get extremely busy and I may not have a lot of time to post, so please bear with me. I don’t want to drag this TR out like I did with the last one, but I make no promises. :hilarious:

It was time for L’s NRJ FP, so she headed towards Pandora. I decided to checkout the single rider line for Everest

366451

The single rider line was like 30-40mins, so I kept on walking.

I didn’t eat breakfast and was about to starve, so I was on the hunt for food.

I decided to go with the baked macaroni and cheese with shrimp from Eight Spoon Cafe.
366455

Another item recommended by AJ from DFB. It was actually very good! The shrimp had been marinated in a sweet chili sauce, which gave it some extra flavor. I highly recommend it!

I sat at a table over at the outdoor seating area by Flame Tree overlooking the Discovery River. L was off of NRJ and met me over here. Our EE FP was coming up, but we still had a little bit of time, so we headed over to MJT.

There’s a tiger laying down way in the back.

I think this is the father of the 2 cubs.

The cubs weren’t out today. They were having their monthly check-up. In order to reduce stress, they perform the check-up over the course of 3 days and they keep them off stage for a week.

Our FP window had opened up, so we exited MJT and headed to Everest.

366580

The FP line was actually fast! We were on in 5mins!

366584

We headed to Dinoland next.
366581

They were putting the finishing touches on Donald’s Dino-Bash during our trip last May, so we didn’t get to experience it. When I first heard about it, I thought it seemed kind of tacky, but I actually enjoyed it and think that it’s exactly what Dinoland needs.

We wandered around Dinoland and stumbled upon Daisy. No one was in line, so we stopped and said hello.

L was hungry and decided on Restaurantosaurus since we were in the area.
366582

Restaurantosaurus has a lounge?! When did this happen?

I attempted to find a table while L got her food but wasn’t successful. She was still in line, so I hung out by the crocodile.
366583

About 5mins later, L texted me and said the she had her food and found a table on the front porch near the entrance, so I met her over there. She’d ordered the 8 piece chicken nuggets but they ended up giving her 10.

Since she’d already used her 1st 3 FPs, L grabbed another FP for Everest. I was still hanging on to my FoP FP, so I couldn’t book any additional FPs yet. After 6 chicken nuggets, L was full. It was already time for her FP, so she headed on to EE. I stayed at Restaurantosaurus and finished L’s remaining chicken nuggets before heading back to Asia.

Y’all, I have some terrible news. l had already typed the previous post yesterday and was going to post it, but something tragic and unexpected happened. I’m fighting back what tears I have left as I type this. It is with a broken heart to inform y’all that Maggie past away yesterday afternoon. It was exactly one month until her 14th birthday.

She died peacefully in her sleep somewhere between 3 and 4pm. After talking with the vet, we determined that she had a blood clot. All of this came as a shock. Her surgery had gone well and she was doing great and acting like her normal self. Even the vet said that when they were checking her vitals and running tests before and after the surgery, that everything looked fantastic and there wasn’t anything noticeable that made them think a clot was forming.

Just like with fatal clots in humans, it happened instantly and there was nothing that we or anyone else could have done. The bright side (if there is one) of the quickness of blood clots is that there isn’t any pain/suffering.

It turned out that one of the tumors they’d removed wasn’t benign, but cancerous. It’s possible that the clot could’ve been caused by that, but the vet said he didn’t think that was the case because it was still in an early stage. I’d much rather this happen the way it did than to watch her suffer through cancer. That’s how our last dog (another dachshund) died and it was tough.

My heart is literally broken. I do not think I can physically cry anymore. Maggie was my baby girl and my best friend. We got her in 2005 when she about a month or so old and we were inseparable since.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad she didn't have to suffer through cancer, though. At least she was able to have a nice comfortable and loving home...you did what you could do to take care of her.

I know it’s late, but Happy Easter! Hope everyone had a great day!

I wandered back towards Everest and grabbed a bench in the RoL seating area. L had just gotten off of EE and walked over. While she was in line, another EE FP came available, so she snagged it. She asked me if I wanted it because her leg was starting to bother her and she felt like she needed to sit down for a while. Of course I said yes.

We pulled the MB switch-a-roo and I walked over to Everest.

The FP line looked insanely long, but it moved quickly. I ended up waiting about 10mins.

L was still over at the RoL area when I got off.

Her leg began to feel better and she was ready to move along. She wanted to do Gorilla Falls, so we headed to Africa.

We stopped for some PP pics along the way.

The meerkats weren’t out when I went through GF in the morning, but they were out and wound up this afternoon!

None of the gorillas were visible, so that was it for this go-round of GF.

These flowers were growing near the exit.

Not sure what kind they are, but they’re really pretty.

It was 2:30 when we left GF. Our plan was to try and make the 3pm performance of FotLK, so we hightailed it to the Harambe Theatre. The line was crazy long, but luckily we made it in. We were literally the last people they allowed inside.

I was sure that we’d get a crappy spot, but we ended up getting the complete opposite!

This was the best performance of FotLK that I’ve ever seen! Not that any of the other performances were bad, but this one was really good!

L was itching to see Chip and Dale in their dinosaur attire before they ended their M&G for the day, so we headed back to Dinoland.

While passing through Discovery Island, we saw Kevin!

Definitely one of the highlights of the trip!

I wasn’t as interested in seeing Chip and Dale as L was, so I opted to get something sweet instead.

:hungry::hungry: This thing was huge! The cookies were sooo good! I ended up not paying for it. As I was about to scan my MB, the CM told me that it was on Mickey. :)

I walked over to the Chip and Dale M&G because L was still in line. I grabbed a bench and encountered this.

No better place to get some computer work done than AK, am I right? Seriously? What the heck?

L finally saw Chip and Dale and met me at the bench. We looked around in Chester and Hester’s for a bit before hitting up Triceratop Spin.
