Are you dreaming of a Disney Christmas?
If you can’t make it to Walt Disney World to see the decorations and entertainment in person, why not take a look at one of the many shows that have been filmed there during the holiday season. This week, viewers will have multiple opportunities to see “House Crashers – Disney Holiday Special” on DIY Network.
During the episode that debuted in 2009, the Mering family flies cross-country to help Josh and Trey transform an empty event space into Lilo’s Mele Kalikimaka Oasis. The build includes four tiki huts that need to be framed, painted, covered in bamboo and thatching, and then decorated. In addition, a large background frame is built for photo opportunities with characters, and the entire space is decorated to Disney standards. The family has just three days to get the job done.
During their visit, Josh learns a few tricks from the Disney Imagineers, including how the Cinderella Castle is wrapped in Dream Lights, the secret to making it snow on Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom, and the logistics of installing a 65-foot Epcot icon tree.
“House Crashers – Disney Holiday Special” airs at 12:30 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday; 3:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday; and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
