Which decade did you first visit WDW?

May 1975... My parents broke family tradition that year of going to the Jersey Shore with our extended family and went to WDW instead. We never went to the Jersey Shore again on a family vacation, but we went back to Disney World every year after that.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway (poll)

I feel the same way about 7DMT and SDD. Cute rides that did not live up to the hype. I will hold my verdict on MMRR until I actually ride it. I have seen videos, but I feel that I’ll really need to ride it to judge it because there seems to be so much going on around you. Lots of details are...

Ever lost or found anything valuable?

Back in the 90s I left my camera on the table of a counter service restaurant (used to be the Aladdin themed one in DHS which is now the Disney Junior Show). Someone handed it into lost and found and I got it back. When I got my film developed a few weeks later, I had a picture of a few CMs...

Disney at Christmas- Pop Century or one of the All star resorts?

I highly recommend Pop. We stayed there Christmas week 2019 with my 17 and 14 year old teens. They loved the theming. Food court was great. Art of Animation was an easy walk across the bridge to eat at its food court. Twice we hopped on AoA’s bus at the end of the day because the line was...

Lunch at Tony's for the Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package

We did Rivers of Light package at Tusker House. We had never seen the show before. I found Rivers of Light boring so we won’t do that one again. We also did the Fantasmic dining package at Hollywood and Vine. The character interactions were great and it was nice to see all of them in their...

Lunch at Tony's for the Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package

We just did the parade package at Tony’s on Christmas Eve so we could get the reserved seating for the Christmas parade. We all enjoyed our appetizers- calamari, mozzarella sticks, and spinach artichoke dip. The calamari was the best of the three. For entrees, we ordered chicken parm and...

News 2019 Christmas Holiday Phase Closing watch

It is really important to know what you are doing and go in with a plan. We were in MK on Christmas Day. We were in the park by opening. Walked right on Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Teacups, Dumbo (only ones on ride), Little Mermaid, Mickey’s Philharmagic, and Carousel. Had breakfast at...

Do most people tip when using the DDP?

As the family of a Disney World waiter, please tip your waiter. They are working to provide for their families and need those tips to do so!

Poll: When planning a trip, would you pay rack rate?

Absolutely! We are waiting to see if any discounts will be offered for our December trip because otherwise we are priced out at rack rate.

Who Took You to WDW for the first time?

My parents took us for the first time in May 1975. I was 2. My dad grew up watching the Mickey Mouse Club with his family on television and his dad always wanted to take them to DL, but he died suddenly when my dad was 12. My dad made it a goal to take his family to Disney sometime. So he...

    Pre-Trip ProcrastiNations: Deflections of Work

Just catching up. Thank goodness the move debacle is over and your new place is gorgeous. Love all the light coming in those windows in your living room. My daughter is Hamilton obsessed as well; she keeps asking me for tickets. Hoping to see it when it comes to Philly. Nothing like the...

Guide to DLR for WDW Veterans!

We stayed at the HoJo in August. It was clean, easy walk to the parks, convenient to Panera and McD's for quick drink or ice cream on way back from parks. We had a decent view of the fireworks. It did the job for the price and how little time we spent there (to sleep only).

    Pre-Trip My 1st Disney Christmas!! :)

I have been there at Christmas many times. Be prepared to not do as many attractions and shows as you are used to doing because lines will be very long. Get there by rope drop; even then the crowds will build earlier than in a non-holiday week. Expect gridlock as you try to move around the...

    What are the differences?

In the summer, we also did 2 days at DL and 2 days at DCA. We did almost everything that we wanted to do. We were there from rope drop to almost closing time. i think one of the biggest differences between the two resorts was pacing and our frame of mind. 4 days at WDW, we spend one day at each...

    Pre-Trip ProcrastiNations: Deflections of Work

Once I again I can live another Disney trip through you. We typically go to WDW every other Thanksgiving, but we went to Disneyland this summer instead. At least your TR will make me feel like I am there a little bit. Of course, once I talk to my mother, she will be sure to remind me that I am...
