A lot of the Expanded Universe stuff was really good....and some of it wasn't. Sure the whole Swarm War series was almost as bad as the Holiday Special, but the Republic Commando Series and the X-Wing series were great.

Disney definitely does NOT want DVC rooms to go empty. There's no cost to them either way, but they benefit from the money spent by the guests staying there. Think of it like Carnival giving Florida residents 90% off last minute cruises. If the cabin is empty, no one is buying drinks, or...
