Ok guys, getting excited here, leaving tomorrow morning for a trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Can I have some tips, things to do, things to look out for etc...? Thanks for the help :-)

I was on the understanding that the best kept Disney secret was the Disney Vacation Club.....!?

I enjoy Epcot, World Showcase in particular. The different areas are very interesting at night. I know not a park, but I also enjoy Downtown Disney in the evening/night. As the crowds start to pick up and the street entertainers start to perform, its nice to enjoy the atmosphere.

Mine is the 'People Mover' in MK. We usually arrive in the afternoon/evening so its a nice relaxing 'line-free' way to take in some of the atmosphere and get back into the Disney Spirit. As you say, I don't know how this started, but it does seem to be a ritual for us!

Conch Key is my favourite too. It is right next to the boat stop and you have some really amazing views from the room. However, I probably wouldn't recommend this block for you with your toddlers in mind. In my opinion, the distances at this resort aren't huge.

There are many that I like, but Starring Rolls has to be the highlight for me, great location, nice selection of snacks and coffee!

I wouldn't get rid of the DDP, but I would like to change it slightly. I agree with a lot of points above. Very interested thread.

I would go for Chef Mickey if you want a character breakfast...

If you have the space in luggage a spare pair of trainers is a good idea. Nice to change shoes before dinner if you have time etc...? Nothing worse than wet shoes!

It is manageable. Friday and Saturday night will be more busy.

Animal Kingdom did indeed open in 1998, 22 April (Earth Day).

I haven't heard anything official yet, but I think you have had a pretty good guess taking timings into account. I'll keep an eye out!

Shame about your Teppan Edo experience last time... Yes, Bongos is in DTD near the Cirque du Soleil tent. It is Cuban food with a nice bar and 'Havanna night club feel'. There is also a very nice outside seating area allowing you to take in some of the vibrant DTD atmosphere whilst dining...

It has been a while since I have been to a water park and just wondering what people's opinions are on the best one to visit and why......

Tepan Edo is good fun especially with kids of the age that you have mentioned! However, there are so many nice restaurants. My personal favourites include Brown Derby, Jiko, San Angel, Le Cellier, Bongos... Please let me know if you want any more info about the ones I have mentioned :)
