Help! Dining Dilemma for Girls' Trip

Argh! I forgot about the construction at the Poly...thanks for the reminder! We had quite a long wait the last time I was there (even being early for our ADR), but I enjoyed hanging out in the lobby. Very true! I actually hadn't considered it, just b/c one of my friends isn't very "magical" and...

Help! Dining Dilemma for Girls' Trip

Downtown Disney could be fun! I've never tried Bongos, but sounds like a good time. We have one pretty picky eater, so I'm not sure she'd be up for Boma or Sanaa. Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't thought of Whispering Canyon! I'll have to check out the menu. Thanks! I have eaten there once...

Help! Dining Dilemma for Girls' Trip

I need a little help! I have a trip planned for ToT weekend in October, along with 4 friends. They are all relative newbies and I want to show them an amazing weekend. At the 180-day mark, I booked dinner for our first night at 'Ohana. I was thinking it would be a fun, relaxing dinner (with...

What is your favorite Quick Service meal?

Taco salad from Pecos Bill's is at the top of my list. I also love the Yak & Yeti quick service at AK. My husband and I always get the honey chicken and the beef lo mien and just pass the containers back and forth. Soooo good!!

    Resort Window Decorating??

I'm planning to decorate our window in October for the ToT 10-miler. It's a girls' weekend, and that's just one of the little surprises I have planned! :)

    Star Wars Weekends 2014

It was wild walking down a deserted street to ToT!! I think I was the 6th person in line for it on Friday. I agree about the fireworks - they were AMAZING! This was my first time at SWW, and I had a blast. One of my best trips ever. Here is a pic of my loot - Stormtrooper drink holder, Vader...

    Star Wars Weekends 2014

We were there open-close on Friday and went back for breakfast this morning. Crowds seemed MUCH lighter this morning, but were picking up a little when we headed out around noon.

    Star wars souveniers?

I bought my R2 ears at Tattoine Traders (the shop at the end of Star Tours) a couple of years ago, and I've seen them there a couple of times since then. All of the SWW merchandise will be in a giant tent (Darth's Mall) - I believe that is behind RnRC. This will be my first year attending SWW...

    'Ohana Cutbacks?

Nooooooo!! The chicken was the only meat that I ate there. I love the potstickers and dessert, too, but now I'm going to seriously reconsider the reservations I made there for August and October. :(

Got some pretty exciting news today!

How exciting! Congrats!! I took my son at 3 months and again at 6 months, and both trips were a breeze. I highly recommend a pair of noise-canceling earmuffs (headphones? I'm never sure what to call them). My son slept soundly through every parade and nighttime show...best $13 we ever spent!!

    Port Orleans Riverside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've stayed at POFQ twice and loved it, and I'm staying at PORS for the first time in October. I can't wait! Your post made me even more excited!! :) Any resort "must-do's" for a group of 5 on a girls' weekend?

    Unique Proposal Scenario

I completely agree!! I love scavenger hunts, and ending it with a totally unexpected magical event like a fireworks cruise would be perfect! Good luck, and please let us know what you end up doing.

Just got back from a long-ish trip. Some random thoughts.

I am definitely going to try this next time - thanks for the tip! I'm kind of geeking out over your sister's shirt, too. That is AWESOME!!

    Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage

We did this on the last night of our trip last summer (my son was 7 at the time), and we all had a blast! He wore a Peter Pan costume and got some great interactions w/ all the characters. It was definitely worth the money! We are planning to do it again this year.

    Ohana Menu question

I'm also in the camp that hates bananas, but absolutely LOVED this dessert! After going there for breakfast several times, we finally made it to 'Ohana for dinner in January, and I definitely see what all the hype is about! I can't wait to go back!

    Star Wars Weekends 2014

I did the same thing, and got through right away! I was able to score a reservation for breakfast on May 18 and dinner on May 16th. We had been considering doing a trip for my husband's birthday, and this put us over the edge! We are officially going, and I'm completely giddy! :D

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

I like this idea! :) This will be my first half, so I know I could use some inspiration! Maybe we can have a victory drink meet-up afterward.
