You do not have to be together to get into the park, but you have to be together to check into the restaurant. Otherwise they will make you wait until the whole party is there.

I was upgraded from standard view to theme park view at the GF last year. This year at the WL they tried to put me in a first floor handicap room so I went to the front desk and told them I refused to stay in that room and I ended up in one of the bear face rooms.
