I suspect what happened here is not that TWDC purchased the formula, but rather that H2O+‘s parent company is continuing to custom produce this for Disney, just without the H2O+ name. Disney buys enough that they are willing to do something custom.

So apparently Universal Orlando is rolling out facial recognition technology similar to this now. I’m curious if WDW will circle back on it as a result.

Of all the things in Epcot to invest in right now, why this? Both SSE and Imagination need investment more desperately than Test Track. The current version of Test Track is a downgrade from the original version (IMO), but it certainly doesn’t feel dated.

So apparently on 7/18, Disney made a change on their backend to prevent the booking of ILLs via BG1 and other 3rd party apps. Does anyone know if this impacted bots like “Standby Skipper” which previously would auto-book LLs for people? I imagine that TDO cares more about blocking that than...

They interestingly also haven’t done “Pin Code” / targeted offers in a while. I feel like pre-COVID those were pretty common.

So how does “Resort View” pricing compare to previous Standard View and Garden View pricing?

I hope they use a larger font for the “hometown” than on the 50th name tags where it was often barely readable. I saw someone wearing a pre-50th name tag recently and it was much better.

Curious… when did they combine the reservation pools/buckets for day guests and resort guests? Was that officially announced? I’ve noticed for a while now that availability for resort guests matches exactly what is available for day guests.

I would personally prefer a “minimum spend” per guest / per table rather than prix fixe. It would still be effective at preventing people from only ordering dessert, etc, but without the additional consequences (e.g. forcing people to order an appetizer even if they don’t want one / don’t like...

One surprising thing about today’s updates is the fact that WDW’s park hopping time is staying at 2pm while DLR’s is moving to 11am (from 1pm which already was earlier). What gives? They can’t at least move it to 1pm at WDW also? It seems odd that they keep hanging on to such a late park...

It is surprising IMO that they are making a change that gives APs an advantage (re: park access) over day ticket guests. Ultimately though I think this plays into a larger strategy to use sales limits (both for tickets and APs) rather than reservations to restrict park access.

This is an interesting change…… I wonder how it will impact MemoryMaker sales?
